Following a successful first series in 2021, Talawa Stories is returning to BBC Radio 4 with three fresh, powerful audio dramas in 2024, presented by Talawa, the UK’s outstanding Black theatre company. 

Following a successful first series in 2021, Talawa Stories is returning to BBC Radio 4 with three fresh, powerful radio dramas in 2024.  The playwrights, plays and directors have been announced, bringing their unique and exciting works to the airwaves, presented by Talawa, the UK’s outstanding Black theatre company. 

Talawa Theatre Company, the UK’s outstanding Black theatre company, has an exciting 2023 ahead, including new productions, community projects in Croydon and the return of Talawa Stories and Talawa Firsts. 

Celebrities including Jim Broadbent and David Walliams have joined forces to encourage everyone to get their COVID-19 vaccines in a new uplifting film released today [Saturday 3rd July].  

Radio 4, Talawa Theatre Company - the UK's leading Black British theatre company, and producers feral inc, will come together to showcase original audio dramas by three promising young writers.

During this time when productions all over the world have been put on pause, we are coming together to celebrate plays that have left their mark on theater history. This week we will be focusing on the plays of David Mamet. Today's play, Glengarry Glen Ross!

It has been announced today that Sarah Frankcom is stepping down as Artistic Director of the Royal Exchange Theatre to take up a new post as Director of the prestigious drama school LAMDA. Sarah originally joined the Exchange as Literary Manager in 1998. In 2008 she was made Joint Artistic Director before taking up her current position as sole Artistic Director in 2014. Under her artistic leadership the Exchange has thrived and has been celebrated for its originality, innovation and continued support for the next generation of writers, actors, directors and theatre makers. Described as a 'Powerhouse' and recognised for its 'brave and bold' programming Sarah has shaped the Theatre into an award-winning Company that asks what a producing theatre can be for artists, audiences and communities today.

Theatre Royal Stratford East is pleased to announce that Eleanor Lang has been appointed Executive Director from 1st October. Eleanor joins Theatre Royal Stratford East from Cheek by Jowl, where she is currently Executive Director, at the start of new Artistic Director Nadia Fall's inaugural season and will be working closely with Nadia on the overall strategic leadership of the theatre.

David Mamet's Pulitzer-winning play, which premiered at the National in 1983, in back in London in a star-studded, pugilistic revival from Sam Yates. Though kept firmly in period, it's not hard to find skin-crawling contemporary parallels in Mamet's exposure of a toxic capitalist culture ruled by the art of the deal.
