The Muny presents the sixth show of its 94th season, Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd), through August 5, directed by Gordon Greenberg and choreographed by Denis Jones. Conceived by Gordon Greenburg, Nell Benjamin and John McDaniel, Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd) features lyrics by W.S. Gilbert, and music by Arthur Sullivan. The Muny has announced principal casting for the sixth show of its 94th season, Pirates! Producers Carl Levin, Michael Minarik and The Dodgers announced today that the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival's Outstanding Musical winner FAT CAMP will begin performances off Broadway on April 12, 2012 at the American Theatre of Actors. FAT CAMP features a book by Randy Blair (Perez Hilton Saves the Universe) and Tim Drucker (Perez Hilton Saves the Universe), music by Matthew roi Berger (NY Neo-Classical Ensemble's 12th Night), lyrics by Randy Blair, choreography by Kelly Devine (Rock of Ages) and direction by Casey Hushion (In the Heights, Drowsy Chaperone and Elf - as Associate Director).

It was an event too good to be true: Chocolate and Broadway coming together as one! The 14th Annual Chocolate Show, which opened Wednesday November 8th and ran through Sunday November 13th, featured a runway show with Broadway themed costumes made out of chocolate! Chocolatiers and pastry chefs, from some of New York's best restaurants, teamed up with award winning costume designers to create the delicious dresses that walked the runway Wednesday night. The dresses were then featured throughout the showroom for the rest of the chocolate show. Some of the participating costume designers were William Ivey Long, Anita Yavic (Chinglish), and Gregg Barnes.

Today, December 14, 'White Noise' received 2 very private industry readings at S.I.R. Studios in Manhattan. As previously speculated, 'White Noise' is preparing for a spring move (no theatre mentioned). According to an official reading invite, Whoopi Goldberg will be joining producers Holly Way, Roy Miller, and Jay Strommen. No official announcement has been made.

Horton Foote, the Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award-winning author of THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE is featured in a Critic at Large essay by John Lahr in The New Yorker, in the issue for the week of October 26, 2009. The piece examines the life and career of Foote, who died on March 4, 2009. The New Yorker is currently available on newsstands.
