Melbourne's most dynamic and exciting new performance venue, the BRUNSWICK BALLROOM has opened with a bang enjoying a weekend of sold out shows. Aileen Passloff, dancer/choreographer/teacher and inspiration to generations of dancers, has passed away Tuesday, November 3rd, at 10:45 PM after a brave five-year battle with breast cancer.  Arthur Aviles and Charlotte Hendrickson, two of Aileen's longtime friends and company members, were with her when she died.

The DANCE NOW Story will be told in six monthly chapters starting September 10, 2020 through May 2021.

DANCE NOW will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the DANCE NOW STORY-a reimagined festival composed of a series of online events featuring more than 40 artists. Traditionally held each year immediately after Labor Day, the DANCE NOW Festival is known as the kick-off to the dance season in New York City.

he 39 Steps, playing now through March 8th at Tipping Point Theatre in Northville, is a hilariously challenging fast-paced comedy! Richard, an average English man, meets a mysterious woman that whispers secrets to him on her deathbed. Fleeing the country becomes his only hope for survival and solving the mystery of the 39 Steps. A parody of the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock of the same name, The 39 Steps mixes the thriller genre with humor in the style of Monty Python.

10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, continues its aggressive commitment to the commissioning of new works and gains first-time rights to perform Brian Brooks' solo I'm Going to Explode, now totaling 14 World Premiere Commissioned Works since our founding in 2012. Three of the four works will debut at the company's New York Season June 27-29 at New York Live Arts; the fourth dèbuting in New York following its World Premiere at Ocean County College's Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on April 18, 2020. OCC Commissioned the work with support from the Louis Prima Foundation.

Fasten your seat belts --- THE BANG GROUP'S delightfully offbeat Nut/Cracked returns for its 17th Anniversary Season with an ensemble of 19 dancers spreading holiday cheer. David Parker's comic, neo-vaudeville version of 'The Nutcracker' will return for four performances, December 19-21, at The Flea, 20 Thomas Street, in downtown Manhattan. Special guests for the season are students from Steffi Nossen Dance Company, Frank Sinatra High School for the Performing Arts, and e.g. dance.

The Flea Theater announces its winter 2019-2020 Anchor Partners, an initiative designed to support small independent theater, music and dance companies. This season, The Flea welcomes companies Tiffany Mills Company, Elisa Monte Dance, Notch Theatre Company, Gabrielle Revlock, The Bang Group and TOSOS.
