BBC Studios has announced ahead of Mipcom 2018, that Richard Gere (Chicago, Pretty Woman), Billy Howle (Witness for the Prosecution, On Chesil Beach) and showrunner Tom Rob Smith (Child 44, London Spy, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), will head to Mipcom in Cannes to launch MotherFatherSon at a special event on Monday 15th October.

The powerful new play by the award-winning American writer Ken Urban stars Douglas Booth (Jupiter Ascending, Speech and Debate) and Clifford Samuel (McMafia, The Events) and is directed by Jonathan O'Boyle.

Acclaimed director Ava DuVernay's short-form film entitled “August 28: A Day in the Life of a People” will make its national television debut on Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. Starring Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Don Cheadle, Regina King, David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, André Holland, Michael Ealy and Glynn Turman, DuVernay's 22-minute scripted film uses a robust combination of both documentary and narrative techniques to transport viewers through six stunning historical moments that all actually occurred on the same day in various years.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) presents its 2018 Summer Season featuring a diverse range of nine productions, playing across its three stages from 30 May. Award-winning vocalist Leslie Odom, Jr. releases a new ballad "What Are We Waiting For"   (S-Curve Records/BMG) featuring his wife, and actress, Nicolette Robinson.  Of the collaboration Odom, Jr. says "Nic and I have sung this song in concert together for years--most recently for the filming of my Live From Lincoln Center show for PBS. We love the tune and we love singing it together. The song means a lot to us."

FX has placed a series order for Mr Inbetween, a half-hour drama series created by and starring Scott Ryan and directed by Nash Edgerton, it was announced today by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions.
