The theater community rallied together once again with spirited skits, dynamic dance and brilliant bonnets as Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ Easter Bonnet Competition returned April 24 and 25, 2023. The performances celebrated in-theater Red Bucket appeals that raised $3,601,355 for meals and medication, health care and hope for those who need them most.

Theater professionals who started their theatrical journey in York, PA will inspire area students who have been dreaming of New York in The Belmont Theatre's next virtual offering: 'From York to New York.” The response from theatre professionals has been so great that The Belmont will release two editions: ACT 1 on March 20, and ACT 2 on April 20.

For the past thirty years, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has been a vital part of the theatre community, and Tom Viola has been around to nurture its growth since the organization's inception in 1988.

Multiple schools from central Pennsylvania contributed cast to the Belmont's LES MISERABLES. They're clearly the cream of the area crop, with great singing and acting chops to match the set.

In honor of Les Miserables' opening tonight, BroadwayWord brings you the actors who've taken on the many complex and vocally challenging roles of Victor Hugo's world, from the unscrupulous Thenardiers to innocent Cosette, or principled Javert against the compassionate and strong-willed Jean Valjean. The 23rd ANNUAL EASTER BONNET COMPETITION was a great success with $3,402,147 being raised this year by the participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies to benefit Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS. Since it began in 1987, 23 editions of the Annual Easter Bonnet Competition have raised nearly $38 million for BC/EFA.

The theme for the 2007 edition of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS' annual event Broadway Bares was announced and ticket sales for the hotly anticipated event were officially launched tonight at the monthly 'NextWorks' event hosted by Next Magazine at the popular Chelsea nightspot SBNY (Splash).
