Theatre Exile presents the Philadelphia premiere of That Pretty Pretty; or, The Rape Play by Sheila Callaghan. Directed by Joe Canuso, Exile's producing artistic director, That Pretty Pretty runs November 11th through December 5th at the newly renovated Christ Church Neighborhood House, with the press opening Wednesday, November 17th at 8pm.

In their fifth annual CPS Shakespeare! collaboration, Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) artists and an ensemble of 30 students and teachers from ten Chicago Public Schools (CPS) are breaking down language barriers and promoting critical literacy with an adaptation of William Shakespeare's iconic Romeo and Juliet. CPS Shakespeare! brings together a diverse group of students from CPS high schools across Chicago in a collaborative process that provides training with a team of theater professionals, including text coaches and a fight choreographer. The script, adapted by Director Kirsten Kelly, includes portions of verse in Spanish to represent the diversity of the ensemble and Chicago community. CPS Shakespeare! Romeo and Juliet is performed on the same set designed for CST's current full-length production of Romeo and Juliet in the Courtyard Theater.

Due to popular demand, Neil Simon's award-winning comedy The Prisoner of Second Avenue has extended its run at the Vaudeville Theatre until 25 September 2010. Directed by Terry Johnson and starring Jeff Gold blum and Mercedes Ruehl, The Prisoner Of Second Avenue is the first West End production to be staged by The Old Vic Theatre Company.

St. Louis Actors' Studio opens its fourth season, themed Angels and Demons, with David Mamet's oval office hit NOVEMBER. It's a Presidential election year, and incumbent Charles Smith's chances for reelection are looking grim. Approval ratings are down, his money's running out, and nuclear war might be imminent. Though his staff has thrown in the towel and his wife has begun to prepare for her post-White House life, Chuck isn't ready to give up just yet. Amidst the biggest fight of his political career, the President has to find time to pardon a couple of turkeys - saving them from the slaughter before Thanksgiving - and this simple PR event inspires Smith to risk it all in attempt to win back public support.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Al Pacino's star power has earned The Merchant of Venice the winners spot for the fall's highest advance generating show. The production, which opens at the Broadhurst Theatre on November 7, 2010, has reportedly taken in approximately $4M, beating out all incoming fall plays and musicals.
