The RAVEN RESORT proudly announces NEW FEATHERS, a playwright reading series, showcased within their newly refurbished theater, The Oak Room.  Devoted to showcasing new & developmental theatrical work, this series will feature the professional and award-wining playwrights of Princeton's Witherspoon Circle.  The New Feathers Series will offer a unique, industry-inside view to the creative process with a ground-floor, indie-entertaining format on the first Sunday of every month, commencing Sunday, August 6 from 6pm until 7:45pm.  Seats are limited, ensuring an intimate setting and a complimentary wine-tasting from the Raven's international collection is included at the premiere evening on August 6th, starting at 5pm, August 6th. Nine-time Emmy Award-winning television producer and writer David Lee, best known for Frasier, Wings, and Cheers, has generously offered to match all gifts up to $30,000 that will be contributed to the theater company through Labor Day. Of this tremendous gift, Lee said, "Coyote StageWorks consistently has produced much of the finest live theater in the Valley, but it is a well-kept secret. I make this matching gift to support their continuing artistic excellence, to draw attention to this wonderful company, and to put the community on notice that without their financial support we could lose this precious commodity." In making this commitment, he hopes to encourage people who haven't supported Coyote StageWorks to step up and do so now while they can double the effect of their donation. (more...)

A Version) will present the World Premiere of Lasha Bugadze's Navigator in Love, directed by Adam Knight (In the Room with Slant Theatre Project) as part of the Georgian-American Theatrical Feast, a festival of new works written by playwrights from the Republic of Georgia translated into English, July 13-August 6 at Teatro Circulo (64 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances on Thu 7/13, Fri 7/14, Sat 7/15, Sat 7/22, Wed 7/26, Thu 7/27, Fri 7/28, Fri 8/4 & Sat 8/5 @ 8pm, Sun 7/16, Sun 7/23 & Sun 8/6 @ 3pm. The Lyric Stage Company of Boston closes out the season with David Lee's adaptation of Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT, a revision that hones in on the relationships among the three principals and retains the glorious score, while jettisoning considerable weight from the historically burdensome book. Producing Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos shapes the production with his vision for the 21st century, assisted by the virtuosic Music Director Catherine Stornetta and Rachel Bertone, whose choreography blends medieval style with modern dance steps.
