Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, and The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WNYC and WQXR, announce the fourth event in the series, TCG Playwrights in Conversation: Discussions and Readings - An Evening with David Henry Hwang. In celebration of TCG's 50th anniversary, events featuring conversations with TCG authors and featured artists are being presented at The Greene Space, WNYC and WQXR's innovative broadcast studio and performance venue.
Justin Lin Set to Direct CHINGLISH Movie

According to Deadline, Justin Lin is set to helm a big screen adaptation of David Henry Hwang's Chinglish, which opened on Broadway last Fall. Lin will also produce the film with Bobbi THompson and Hwang, who will pen the script.

Playwrights Foundation and Cultural Services of the Consulate General of France/SF is spear-heading a major new international exchange project, Des Voix...Found In Translation, that supports the translation of vanguard French and American playwrights and promotes their work to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. The San Francisco festival will feature translations of new plays by three emerging playwrights working in France today. Plays by Marion Aubert (pink picture), Nathalie Fillion (blue picture), and Samuel Gallet (yellow picture) will be performed in English during a Festival, scheduled from May 25-27, 2012, in a producing partnership with Z Space, a theater located in San Francisco's vibrant, cutting-edge Mission District and Deborah Taylor/FireMused Productions, LLC.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, 4:00PM, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Andreas Mitisek, Artistic and General Director of Long Beach Opera, will interview Tony award-winning author David Henry Hwang about his libretto for Ainadamar, the opera by Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov based on the life of Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca and his murder by Fascists during the Spanish Civil War.

Wilson helms "Off the Main Road" on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m., in the William Inge Theatre at Independence, Kansas. The Inge work will be the opening night event of the 31st Annual William Inge Theatre Festival at the playwright's alma mater Independence Community College.

Sundance Institute today announced the eight projects selected from nearly 900 submissions to participate in the 2012 Theatre Lab, July 9-29 at the Sundance Resort.
