George Street Playhouse (GSP) has opened their 50th Anniversary season with the stunning world premiere of The Pianist, a poignant theatrical piece brilliantly directed and adapted for the stage by Emily Mann with a beautiful original score by Iris Hond.

George Street Playhouse presents THE PIANIST, a play with music, based on the memoir “The Pianist” by Wladyslaw Szpilman and directed and adapted for the stage by Emily Mann (Broadway: A Streetcar Named Desire, Having Our Say, Anna and the Tropics). THE PIANIST begins previews on September 26, with an official opening night set for September 29. The play runs through October 22.

On Sunday, August 6 at 1pm, Vermont native Shaina Taub will return to the Green Mountain State to lead a masterclass and songwriting workshop with students in Northern Stage's Summer Musical Theater Intensive production of TWELFTH NIGHT, for which she wrote music and lyrics.

Northern Stage's Summer Musical Theater Intensive (SMTI) participants are featured this summer in Shaina Taub and Kwame Kwei-Armah’s jazz-funk hit Twelfth Night, a 90-minute musical adaptation of the beloved Shakespeare romantic comedy.

Tony Award winner Santino Fontana (Tootsie) will star in the new play The Pianist as Szpilman in a by-invitation only development reading Thursday June 23 in NYC. The Pianist features an original score by acclaimed Dutch concert pianist Iris Hond.

Entering its 25th Anniversary season, Northern Stage is thrilled to welcome actor and educator Robert David Grant back to the Upper Valley as the new Director of Education, and Actors’ Equity Stage Manager Brian R. Sekinger as Director of Production. Grant and Sekinger join Northern Stage’s Senior Leadership for this pivotal Anniversary season. 

Northern Stage has announced its purchase today of 160 Gates Street in White River Junction. The organization plans to create workforce housing for staff and visiting artists on the site.

Singer-songwriter and visual artist Anuladé is set to release her colourful new single 'Share the Love' on Monday 24th August 2020. Produced by longtime mentor Pop Idol's David Grant, 'Share the Love' is the third single from her debut album 'Troika' which is due for release in autumn 2020.

Talented visual and musical artist Anuladé has released her new single 'Just Breathe'. With appearances across the BBC network including BBC London and BBC Three Counties, she is back with a new track that will be her second offering from debut album 'Troika'. Mixed & mastered by Geoff Swan (Paul McCartney,) alongside executive producer and longtime mentor Pop Idol's David Grant, Anulade's follow up is a highly anticipated one.

Shakespeare's tragic tornado of familial and political civil war will take the stage at the Barrette Center for the Arts in White River Junction January 22 - February 9. The Acting Company announces OTHELLO, a touring production visiting New York City schools across the five boroughs in January and February 2019.

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) today announced the cast for a rare reading of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom which will be presented for one night only, onMonday, June 11 at 7pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  Liliom was turned into the musical Carousel by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II which is now enjoying a successful revival on Broadway.

The Broadway Education Alliance just announced that The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Pearl Studios in Manhattan. This program is open to high schools located in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, Orange and Rockland Counties, and Westchester. To be eligible, high schools must present an officially licensed production of a Broadway musical during the 2017- 2018 academic year. The Roger Rees Awards has accepted 29 schools, whose students will compete for the title of Best Actor and Best Actress. Winners of the Roger Rees Award will represent the Greater New York region at The Broadway League Foundation's Jimmy® Awards (also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards) in June.

According to Variety, Annette Bening is set to join the cast of CAPTAIN MARVEL. She joins the cast of Brie Larson, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, and Gemma Chan. Read more about the report from Variety here!
