Spotted at Cafe Edison:  Hillary Clinton and Cubby Bernstein in serious conversation huddled over bowls of motzah ball soup.  As Leo Frank sang, this is not over yet.

Unless the painters have been around the past few days, a bit of graffiti on the Classic Stage Company's men's room wall reads, 'Good Theatre + Great Coffee + Clean Bathroom = CSC.'  While the lobby's Everyman Espresso Café and (I would assume) some eager young intern are keeping the latter two parts of that equation accurate, director Walter Bobbie's premiere production of David Ives' New Jerusalem is indeed providing some good theatre.

In addition, Lila Coogan has been cast in the role of 'Pamela.' Coogan is currently appearing as 'Jane Banks' in the Broadway production of Mary Poppins. The all-star cast also includes Lynn Ahrens, Christian Borle, Carolee Carmello, Sandy Duncan, Gregg Edelman, Christine Ebersole, Stephen Flaherty, Kathie Lee Gifford, Adam Heller, Richard Kind, Robert Klein, Tommy Tune and many others. Special guest David Garrison made appearance as Producer Bernie S. Gerry. The special concert of PAMELA'S FIRST MUSICAL was held on Sunday, May 18 at 3 PM at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) with a reception at Sardi's immediately following. Proceeds will benefit BC/EFA and Theatre Development Fund's Open Doors Program, which Wasserstein founded. This delightful one-act musical, based on Wasserstein's 1996 children's book, tells the story of a young girl from the suburbs who spends an unforgettable birthday with her eccentric, sophisticated Aunt Louise (Murphy) attending a lavish Broadway production and meeting all the glamorous, creative people who made it possible. The 92nd Street Y has named Deborah Grace Winer, journalist, playwright and author of several books on the topic of American song, Series Artistic Director of the Y's long-running American Songbook series Lyrics & Lyricists.

Signature Theatre will present a closed reading of The Visit on Tuesday, February 19 in New York City. The East Coast premiere of The Visit will be one of three mainstage works presented as a part of Signature's four-month celebration of the songwriting team of John Kander & Fred Ebb.

Maureen McGovern returns to the Manhattan cabaret scene with her new show A Long and Winding Road at New York City's Metropolitan Room at 7:30PM on February 13-16 and February 21-23.

The 92nd Street Y continues the 2008 season of its legendary American Songbook series, 'Lyrics & Lyricists, with Life is a Cabaret: A Tribute to Fred Ebb.' In over 700 songs written in the course of a 50-year career, Fred Ebb's lyrics epitomize the wit and sophistication of Broadway. From 1964 when they met, until his death in 2004, Ebb collaborated with composer John Kander to create the scores for Cabaret, Happy Time, Zorba, Chicago, Woman of the Year, The Rink, and Kiss of the Spider Woman, among others. They also collaborated on Curtains, which was produced in 2007, after Ebb's death.

Brent Barrett, Diana Canova, Tyne Daly, and David Garrison are all set as guest artists for 'Life Is a Cabaret: A Tribute to Fred Ebb,' to be presented as part of the 92nd Street Y's Lyrics and Lyricists series running February 23-25. Rob Fisher will be the guest artistic and musical director for the evening, which will salute Ebb, the lyricist of such shows as Cabaret, Chicago, Zorba!, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Wide critical acclaim and brisk ticket sales have prompted Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, by special arrangement with Bob Boyett, to extend the run of David Ives' New Jerusalem, directed by Tony Award-winner Walter Bobbie, by an additional week through Sunday, February 10 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will continue its 40th anniversary season with two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming starring in Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, beginning performances Wednesday, February 20 at Classic Stage Company (136 East 13th Street).

Classic Stage Company will present Tony Award-winning actor Richard Easton and Jeremy Strong in the world premiere of New Jerusalem, a new play by David Ives, directed by Tony Award-winner Walter Bobbie, for a limited engagement from Friday, December 28 through Sunday, February 3 at Classic Stage Company; Opening January 13 with Fyvush Finkel, David Garrison, Jenn Harris, Michael Izquierdo and Natalia Payne.

Beginning performances Tuesday, July 10, Lenny Wolpe will play The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the Broadway musical Wicked.

The Actors Fund celebrated their 125th Anniversary with its Annual Gala at the Waldorf Astoria on April 30th, and BroadwayWorld was there!

The National Tour of Wicked plays Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre through February 18th.

On Tuesday, January 9, three new principal cast members joined Broadway company of the smash-hit musical Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre

For the week ending December 31, 2006, WICKED, the musical that tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, once again set a new record for the highest grossing week in Broadway history with a weekly box office take of $1,800,310.
