Today Mischief Theatre announce the new crooks in town, as the UK touring cast are set to replace the current West End cast, in the critically acclaimed and Olivier Award nominated The Comedy About a Bank Robbery. Celebrating 3 years in London's West End, The Comedy About a Bank Robbery recently extended until May 2020 and is looking forward to welcoming the new convicts to the Criterion Theatre.

Mischief Theatre's third production The Comedy About A Bank Robbery opened at the Criterion Theatre on London's West End in March 2016. A 2018-2019 touring production opened in Birmingham in August 2018. It is currently playing to crowds in Brighton's Theatre Royal.

Mischief Theatre's A Comedy About A Bank Robbery has recently embarked on its first UK tour, opening at the Rep in Birmingham this week. This production is the company's third large-scale show, following The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and it's also been running in the West End since March 2016.

Talk Is Free Theatre (TIFT) announces the ultimate, international theatrical adventure with The Curious Voyage, running Oct. 23 to Nov. 10, 2018 in Barrie, Canada and London, England. Taking place over three days to groups of no more than 36 participants, the immersive adventure will provide a unique, personal experience for every audience member, surprising them with curious artistic encounters as they inhabit new worlds in Barrie, Canada and London, England. The experience culminates in a site-specific mystery musical (a well-known Tony Award-winning work), whose dramatic themes will have been woven throughout the previous three-days. Tickets for The Curious Voyage are extremely limited and only available from May 8 to June 27, 2018.

Artistic Producer Arkady Spivak announced today the 2017-2018 season. Filled with all the magic and wonder of L. Frank Baum's masterpiece, YPT will offer a refreshing new take on the classic musical, including a number that was cut from the original movie. Sunday in the Park with George features the book by James Lapine and music and lyrics by Sondheim (whose works include masterpieces such as Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods). TIFT's production is directed by Steve Ross, a 12 year veteran of the Stratford Festival and a long-time actor TIFT actor, making his directing debut.

The world premiere production of The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz: The Musical, based on the novel by Mordecai Richler, with book and lyrics by David Spencer and an original music by eight-time Oscar winning composer Alan Menken, is in the process of rehearsals for the recent production, and BroadwayWorld was on the scene to get an exclusive first look. For Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken - his musical based on the book and film The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz is what he calls 'a passion project, definitely.' Menken's version of Duddy Kravitz as a musical, which he co-wrote with David Spencer, was originally produced in the 1980's in Philadelphia. 'We did it in Philadelphia and we had a provision in the contract where we had to have a first class production (which Philadelphian wasn't) in order for the rights to merge, and when that didn't happen nobody could do (license) this musical…' Menken told me from inside the Segal Centre in Montreal while on break from rehearsals.
