Final rehearsals are underway for Skyline Theatre Company's upcoming production of tick, tick…BOOM! by RENT composer Jonathon Larson. The show will run for six performances November 7th-9th and 14th-16th, 2014, at the George Frey Center for Arts and Recreation in the Fair Lawn Community Center in Fair Lawn.

The Gallery Players 48th season continues and offers up Proof by David Auburn, the 2001 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the Tony Award winner for Best Play. This beautiful and haunting story explores a woman dealing with her brilliant but mentally unstable father's death and how much madness and / or genius she will inherit. Proof is directed by Gallery veteran Mark Gallagher (Equus, The History Boys), and features the talents of Justine Campbell-Elliott, John Blaylock*, Bonnie Wickeraad* and David Gazzo. Proof will open tonight, October 25, 2014 at 8pm and run through November 9, 2014.

59E59 Theaters will welcome The Directors Company with ON A STOOL AT THE END OF THE BAR, written by Robert Callely and directed by Michael Parva. ON A STOOL AT THE END OF THE BAR begins performances on Friday, November 14 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 14. Press Opening is Thursday, November 20 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

George Street Playhouse's season opener, Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley, has more than a touch of Irish mysticism and romance. Like his Oscar-winning movie Moonstruck, the play is the story of an unlikely romance, but set in Ireland. To complement the Irish theme of the play, the Playhouse is offering its patrons to enjoy libations and the sounds of Highland Park-based Celtic Band Brosna, who perform their unique take on Celtic classics following the 8pm Today performance.

Playing on Air, a public radio show featuring recordings of select contemporary short American plays, returns to BRIC House for a new season of performances. Nine short plays by notable American playwrights (three per evening) will be recorded live at BRIC House, 647 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn on October 20, 27 and December 1 at 7:30pm.
