During a nine year recording hiatus from his Grammy award winning band Nickel Creek, singer/songwriter/guitarist Sean Watkins released his third solo album Blinders On, teamed up with Switchfoot singer, Jon Foreman, to form the band Fiction Family, as well as co-founded the experimental supergroup Works Progress Administration (WPA).

Dan Wilson released his new album Love Without Fear on April 15.

Goo Goo Dolls have announced that they will hit the road in April for a spring acoustic tour, called The Otis Midnight Sessions. The shows will be performed in a 'Story Tellers' format that enables the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band to dig deep into an extensive song catalog spanning their nearly 30-year history. It also offers a rare opportunity for fans to see them perform in more intimate settings than the Goos normally visit on their many live treks.

OFF-BROADWAY FAMILY THEATRE announced that Abigail Taylor-Sansom and Dan Wilson have joined the cast of the inaugural production of C.S. Lewis' 'THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE'. The production, which opened October 22, 2011, continues to play on Saturdays at 11 AM at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street (west of 8th Avenue), NYC. Beginning in October, the show will also be available for special school matinee performances.

Critically-acclaimed British singer/songwriter Birdy has announced the release of her U.S.-only EP, BREATHE, out today, September 24th on Atlantic Records. BREATHE comes on the heels of Birdy's globally successful self-titled debut album which was released in 2011. Hennepin Theatre Trust previously announced that lauded local singer/songwriter Jeremy Messersmith will launch the New Century Sessions, a new Minnesota music series giving artists a chance to not only play, but to share the evolution of their work. The series will run at the Trust's intimate New Century Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. The concert featuring Messersmith with Twin Cities band Cjell Cruze opening, is set for 7 p.m. tonight, Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. Doors open at 6:30.

Performances of UNDER THE GREENWOOD TREE begin August 8th prior to an official press opening of August 11th at The Flea Theater (41 White Street) in Manhattan.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band was founded in 1961 to promote traditional New Orleans jazz in all its authenticity. Legendary players like George Lewis, Sweet Emma Barrett and Kid Thomas Valentine, all rooted in the formative years jazz, were its original stars. That generation is long gone now, yet the hall is still in business and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band continues to tour the world.
