The Dallas Opera has announced that mezzo-Soprano Susan Nicely will portray twentieth-century culinary icon Julia Child in composer Lee Hoiby's BON APPÉTIT! The one-act operetta, with a libretto by Mark Shulgasser and support from The Perot Foundation Education and Community Outreach Programs, is based on two episodes from Julia Child's popular cooking show in which she concocts a chocolate cake.

The first trailer has been released for the upcoming CG animated musical feature film currently in production, DOROTHY OF OZ. The film will feature voiceovers by a host of Broadway veterans including Lea Michele as Dorothy Gale, Bernadette Peters as Glinda, Kelsey Grammer as Tin Man, Megan Hilty as China Princess, Hugh Dancy as Marshall Mallow, Patrick Stewart as Tugg and Martin Short as Jester. Legendary Broadway soprano Barbara Cook celebrates her 85th birthday with her Chicago Symphony Orchestra debut on Sunday, July 15, in a 5 p.m. concert led by conductor Richard Kaufman in his festival debut.
