The New 42nd Street has announced that its annual Gala, to be held Monday, January 12 at The New Victory Theater, will honor Tony, Emmy, and Golden Globe Award-winner John Lithgow with the New Victory Arts Award for his work in "bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids." The New 42nd Street will also honor The Rudin Family with the inaugural Marian Heiskell Award for their role in shaping the future of New York City. Glenn Close will serve as Gala honorary chair.

?The New Victory Theater received the 2014 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award today from First Lady Michelle Obama for the New Victory Usher Corps, the 42nd Street theater's creative youth development program for New York City teens. The New Victory Usher Corps, one of only 12 programs to receive the award this year, accepts the nation's highest honor for programs that excel in developing learning and life skills in young people through the arts.

NEW YORK, September 30, 2014 - The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today the host of the anniversary ceremony that is to be held at the legendary Apollo Theater. Broadway playwright, actress and 1993 Bessie awardee Lisa Kron will host the 30th Annual Bessie Awards. Produced in partnership with Dance/NYC, the awards will take place October 20, 7:30 p.m. Nominees will arrive starting 6:00 p.m. for Red Carpet press interviews and photo opportunities.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, celebrates a milestone 30th anniversary this year. Today, the 36 nominees for the 2013-14 season were announced at a press conference by members of The Bessies Selection Committee. The nominations (listed below) were selected by an independent committee of 40 dance industry professionals. Produced in partnership with Dance/NYC, Bessie Award categories include Outstanding Performer, Outstanding Production, Outstanding Visual Design, Outstanding Music Composition or Sound Design and Outstanding Revival.

A three-week series serving New York City day camps and school programs from today, July 16 to August 1, 2014, Victory Dance will feature a cross-section of New York choreographers and companies in more than a dozen pieces specifically curated for young audiences. Through Victory Dance, New York City kids will have the opportunity to meet with choreographers and dancers, as well as see these incredible artists and companies present their very best work.

3-Legged Dog has announced that it is partnering with The Joyce Theater for the NYC premiere of BEGINAGAIN, a new technology infused dance experience by the acclaimed Seattle-based zoe | juniper, which is part of JOYCE UNLEASHED. Conceived, designed and directed by Zoe Scofield and Juniper Shuey, with choreography by Zoe Scofield and visual design by Juniper Shuey, BEGINAGAIN opens tonight, May 8 for a limited engagement through Saturday, May 10.
