"Miss Saigon," the international musical sensation that ran on Broadway for a decade, opens the new season at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre. PinnWorth Productions proudly presents this blockbuster show for nine performances: Fridays, Sept. 9, 16, and 23 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sept. 10, 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Sept. 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Sept. 9. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. (more...)

THE ESPLANADE THEATER, Singapore - There is no doubt that LES MISERABLES has taken the form of the mammoth blockbuster musical it is now thirty years after its first production and it is clear that this 2016 re-imagined production - currently taking over Southeast Asian theaters and filling them up to the rafters - is a decisive indication that this Cameron Mackintosh ticket is all set to march on for another 30 years, or perhaps even longer. Happy Birthday Claude-Michel Schonberg! Schonberg is best known for his collaborations with the lyricist Alain Boublil. Thier stage musical version of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, which opened at the Palais de Sports in Paris in 1980, opened to acclaim in London in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987. In 1989, their success continued with the musical Miss Saigon, which starred Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce. Schonberg's next project with Boublil was The Pirate Queen, a musical about the 16th century Irish pirate, chieftain and adventuress Grace O'Malley, which opened on Broadway on April 5 2007.
