Beautifully staged, with lighting by Kristen Geisler, and scenic design by Josafeth Israel Reynoso Calvillo, the audience is transported back in time to become a part of something that has both good and bad, dark and light, conviction and redemption. To imagine that you can experience all of that in the span of about three hours is a feat in itself, but the Clarence Brown Theatre manages to pull it off with little trouble.

Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker will play in the Clarence Brown Theatre's Carousel Theatre October 3-20, 2014. Based on real events, this award-winning drama is an evocative look at a moment in history - the founding of a nation -and an inspiring tale about the transforming power of theatre. A staged reading of The Recruiting Officer immediately following the Friday, October 11 performance and a talk back with the director, dramaturg and cast immediately following the Sunday, October 13 matinee also are associated with this production.

Noises Off is truly a show meant for theatre people. Focusing on the production of a fictional play called Nothing On, the audience is taken behind the scenes of a play that seems cursed from the start.

The first professional producing theatre in Tennessee to offer this service, the Clarence Brown Theatre has partnered with the Theatre Development Fund's National Open Captioning Initiative to provide open captioning free of charge for the deaf and hard-of-hearing at select CBT performances during the 2013-2014 season.
