Clarence Brown to Offer 'Deaf Night at the Theatre' Performances

The Clarence Brown Theatre will hold three Deaf Night at the Theatre performances during the 2014-2015 Season. The performances include: The Miracle Worker on Tuesday, October 14, A Christmas Carol on Tuesday, December 9 and A Midsummer Night's Dream on Tuesday, March 3. Clarence Brown Theatre Adds Two Tuesday 7:30 pm Performances to Hank Williams: LOST HIGHWAY RUN

The Hub Theatre Welcomes Matt Bassett as Associate Artistic Director

The Hub has announced Matt Bassett as their new Associate Artistic Director. Matt joined The Hub Theatre as a company member after appearing in 2011's The Clockmaker and has since served as Casting Associate for The Hub, directed 2014's Failure: A Love Story, assistant-directed 2012's Big Love (2013 Helen Hayes nomination - Outstanding Direction for Kirsten Kelly) and directed many table and staged readings for new play development for The Hub. Clarence Brown Theatre to Present HANK WILLIAMS: LOST HIGHWAY, 9/4-28

As a singer and songwriter, Hank Williams changed the face of not only country music, but music in general, forever. From September 4- 28, the Clarence Brown Theatre will stage the biographical retelling of his life in Hank Williams: Lost Highway. Rolling Stone called the show, "Exhilarating! A rare achievement in musical theater!" And, the NY Post called Lost Highway, "the best example of a musician's bio put on stage I've ever seen!" Gloucester Stage Company's 35th Anniversary Season wraps up with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning Fences from August 21 through September 7 at the Gorton Theatre, 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. The 1987 Winner for Pulitzer Prize in Drama, Fences tells the moving story of Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded from the major leagues during his prime, Troy's bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his family. Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Eric C. Engel directs this powerful and poignant American work with GSC veteran Boston actress Jacqui Parker as Rose Maxson and a cast of GSC newcomers including Daver Morrison as Troy Maxson; Warren Jackson as Lyons; Gregory Marlow as Jim Bono; Jermel Nakia as Gabriel; Jared Brown as Cory and Gloucester Stage Youth Acting Workshops student Bezawit Strong in her professional stage debut as Raynell.
