The 2010 Tony Awards are fast approaching, and the performers have been taken to the stage to practice for Sunday's big night. GLEE's Lea Michele & Matthew Morrison were at Radio City Music Hall to rehearse their performances, and photos of the pair have been released!

Last night, June 7, The American Theatre Wing brought together the best of Broadway for their Annual Spring Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street. Celebrating the centennial of Tony Award-winning composer Frank Loesser, Heart and Soul: The Legacy of Frank Loesser featured performances by Harry Connick, Jr., Megan Mullally, Kelli O'Hara and more.

Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. BroadwayWorld.com provided live coverage on the site throughout the ceremony and was on hand at the event to capture the starry arrivals.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and one of the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 61st Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Tuesday, May 18th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Ms. Taymor's award was presented to her by Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren, who stars in Taymor's soon-to-be-released film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatricals served as the Luncheon Chair. Disney Theatricals and Robert Boyett were the benefactors for New Dramatists 61st Annual Spring Luncheon.

Metropolis Opera Project presents THE M.O.P BUCKET, a listening party of new music by a dozen of America's hippest young composers, Monday May 17th 2010. This first annual presentation will feature performances from Broadway's Christiane Noll (2010 Tony and Drama Desk Nominee for Ragtime, Jekyll and Hyde) , Wesley Taylor (2009 Theatre World Award Winner, Rock of Ages), Krysta Rodriguez (TV's Gossip Girl, In the Heights, The Addams Family), Zachary James (The Addams Family, South Pacific), Martin Sola (Coram Boy, The King and I, La Boheme, NYCO) Morgan James (Godspell, The Addams Family), Amy Justman (Company, White Christmas) M.O.P. In honor of World AIDS Orphan Day, Broadway stars Donna McKechnie, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Mason, Nicholas Rodriguez, Will Chase, Paige Davis, Chad Kimball, Aaron Lazar, Felicia Finley, Christiane Noll, Robert Petkoff, and the JERSEY BOYS/Chicago company will participate in SING FOR MY SISTER Benefit May 10. The event will take place at 8pm at Christ & Saint Stephen's Church (120 West 69th Street - between Broadway and Columbus). On Monday, May 10, Broadway performer Kevin Crewell will host television and Broadway stars: Donna McKechnie, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Mason, Nicholas Rodriguez, Will Chase, Paige Davis, Chad Kimball, Aaron Lazar, Felicia Finley, Christiane Noll, Robert Petkoff, the JERSEY BOYS/chicago company along with others in the upcoming benefit concert, SING FOR MY SISTER. The benefit will be held at Christ & Saint Stephen's Church at 8 pm.

The musical icon and beloved actress Julie Andrews returned to the UK stage for the first time in thirty years, with a special one off performance at London's O2 Arena. 'An Evening with Julie Andrews' saw a night of music from her greatest stage and screen performances, as well as the live narration of the story Simeon's Gift, the best-selling children's book written by Julie and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton. Stephen Buntrock, Kevin Odekirk, Christiane Noll, Anne Runolfsson, and Jubilant Sykes all took to the stage with Julie Andrews.
