Music Mountain, America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, continues its 86th anniversary season with another weekend of esteemed artists. Saturday, August 22 welcomes Peter & Will Anderson, with guest Alex Wintz, guitar, performing the best of bebop and jazz (6:30pm). The music continues on Sunday afternoon August 23(3pm) with the Harlem String Quartet and guest artist Francine Kay, piano, performing Beethoven, Turina, Bartok, Borodin, and Dvorak. Weill Hall and the Green Music Center (GMC) at Sonoma State University (SSU) announced its 2015–16 season today, with concerts in Weill Hall, Schroeder Hall, and through the summer at Weill Hall + Lawn. The season comprises the MasterCard Performance Series — 39 concerts on the stage of the 1,400-seat Weill Hall, featuring a roster of internationally renowned stars from the genres of classical music, 2 world music, jazz and pop — leading off with a Gala Opening Night performance by piano superstar Lang Lang; the Summer 2015 MasterCard Performance Series, which takes place with seating both indoors in Weill Hall and on the spacious Weill Lawn featuring an array of contemporary music; and 24 concerts in 240- seat Schroeder Hall, including the popular Sundays At Schroeder series plus three new offerings — a fiveday, nine-concert GMC ChamberFest 2015, led by Jeffrey Kahane, a new Saturday Cabaret four-concert series, and four performances with Musicians from Valley of the Moon Music Festival, featuring early music performed on period instruments by leading Bay Area musicians. Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts ('The Wallis') presents SFJAZZ Collective: The Music of Joe Henderson & Original Compositions for one performance only, April 19, 2015 at 7:00 pm, in the Bram Goldsmith Theater. During the concert, SFJAZZ Collective's debut at The Wallis, the group will pay tribute to legendary saxophonist and composer Joe Henderson with new arrangements of his classic pieces from his early Blue Note years through his resurgence on Verve Records in the 1990s, in addition to performing new, original pieces. On March 10, the group released SFJAZZ Collective: Music of Joe Henderson and New Compositions, Live at SFJAZZ Center, recorded last October at the group's home base - the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco.
