Every semester, my course would host a fund-raiser cabaret where musical theatre students across the years get to perform, and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them all since I came to university.

Two weeks before classes begin, my cohort returned to the studio for a two-week intensive to workshop a new musical, You’re A Catch! Why Are You Single? By Sarah Wynen.

In response to popular demand, an additional performance of Jane Eyre, adapted and directed by Hartford Stage Associate Artistic Director Elizabeth Williamson, has been scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. The show will close on Saturday, March 14.

There are certain stories that strike an emotional chord regardless of the format or venue. One such story is the Charlotte Bronte classic JANE EYRE, which is now playing at Hartford Stage in a brand new adaptation by Associate Artistic Director, Elizabeth Williamson (who also directs). The story - equal parts Victorian epic and Gothic horror, holds up extremely well in this production - providing a sweeping narrative, delivered by a talented cast and supported by strong technical design.

Sometimes the best cure for a sour mood or a gray day is a bit of nonsense. Whether that is achieved by laughing at some absurd meme your friend posted on Twitter, a mindless show you binge watch on Netflix, or a podcast with a comedian you love - frivolity can take many forms. This is true even in the theatre. Take Hartford Stage's latest production of the Olivier Award winning JEEVES & WOOSTER IN "PERFECT NONSENSE" by the Goodale Brothers based on the works of P.G. Wodehouse. This production provides a theatrical escape from whatever ails you and provides audiences with a hilarious romp told by three actors with a penchant for sight gags, impressions, and a whole lot of whimsy.

Jeeves & Wooster in PERFECT NONSENSE opened at Hartford Stage in Connecticut on March 21 and is running through April 20, 2019.

Hartford Stage announced today the cast and creative team for Jeeves & Wooster in "Perfect Nonsense." The Olivier Award-winning comedy from brothers David and Robert Goodale will perform at Hartford Stage Thursday, March 21, through Saturday, April 20. Original director Sean Foley returns to stage the show, which is making its North American premiere at Hartford Stage. Three Broadway actors - Chandler Williams, Arnie Burton, and Eddie Korbich - star in the three-hander.

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts announced today the creative team and cast for Caryl Churchill's provocative comedy Cloud 9, directed by Elizabeth Williamson. The show plays February 23 to March 19.

As we previously reported, Roger Rees, the legendary, Tony Award-winning actor, and Tony Award nominated director, passed away last night at his home in New York City, after a brief journey with cancer. His husband,Rick Elice, and family and friends were at his side.

For the second production in Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural season at its first permanent home, the new Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place in Brooklyn, Mr. Pennington leads a company of 22 actors.
