The Classical Theatre of Harlem, a professional theater company that has brought audiences Black artistic excellence for over two decades, announced casting today for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at Marcus Garvey Park in East Harlem July 5-29.

André De Shields will be honored with the Matador Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Classical Theater at REVELRY, Red Bull Theater's benefit event tonight, Monday June 13th, at 6pm.

Did you know that the arts sector employs 5.2 million workers and contributing 4.1% to pre-pandemic GDP? Unfortunately, the industry experienced some of the harshest effects from COVID. During the pandemic’s peak, 63% of creative workers experienced unemployment, and 95% lost creative income.

The hearing gathered artists and creative workers led by Carson Elrod, co-founder of Be An #ArtsHero/Arts Workers United, to testify on the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on their industry and ways that Congress can better support the creative economy moving forward.

 Denver Center for the Performing Arts has released a new flashback video as part of its DCPAMemories series, featuring its production of The Who's Tommy.

The cast is set for the outdoor premiere of Seize The King, which will begin previews uptown at the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater on July 6th ahead of a July 9th official opening. Broadway's Carson Elrod and AUDELCO nominee RJ Foster will join Ro Boddie, Andrea Patterson, & Alisha Espinosa in the company.
