Shakespeare For EVERYONE Festival Starts Monday

A new Shakespeare festival emphasizing inclusivity and diversity is being launched by New York Shakespeare Exchange (NYSX) this spring. Running from April 23 through May 19, the 1st annual Shakespeare for Everyone Festival will have as its centerpiece the world premieres of eight new short plays in heightened language by a group of authors who identify with social, ethnic or gender-based communities with limited interaction with mainstream Shakespeare work and fields of study.

TNT's Claws is back, and the fierce women of the Nail Artisans of Manatee County are now under new management - the Russians. Niecy Nash (Getting On, The Soul Man), Carrie Preston (True Blood), Judy Reyes (Scrubs), Karrueche Tran (The Nice Guys), Jenn Lyon (Justified), Jack Kesy (The Strain), Kevin Rankin (Dallas Buyers Club, Friday Night Lights), Jason Antoon (Famous in Love), Jimmy Jean-Louis (Heroes), Suleka Mathew (Men in Trees), Harold Perrineau (Lost, Oz) and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) star in the hour-long dramedy series, which returns for season two across TNT's television, mobile and digital platformson Sunday, June 10, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

But that's exactly what happened in the case of WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT. This solo play written by Nassim Soleimanpour, follows a simple, yet possibly terrifying formula. A different actor is scheduled to perform each evening. That actor is finally given the script the moment the curtain rises. They have no idea of the plot or the story until they're standing in front of an audience. Fittingly, most of the audience isn't sure what the show is about either.
