 A Family Business is the final part of Chris Thorpe and Rachel Chavkin’s trilogy of shows that look at global issues from an individual standpoint, following on from Confirmation and Status, both Scotsman Fringe First winners.

Midlands-based independent theatre studio China Plate have announced the appointment of their first ever Executive Director, Chloe Courtney, and Sarah Preece as the Chair of the Board. Chloe Courtney takes up their role in March, joining the leadership team of Artistic Directors Ed Collier and Paul Warwick and in May Sarah will take over from Phyllida Hancock who was in the role for four years.

Ten brand new work-in-progress shows by companies and artists based in the Midlands will have their first outing for audiences and industry professionals at this year's First Bite festival. The free online micro-festival, produced by independent theatre studio China Plate, will take place over a week in four lunchtime events hosted by Georgie Jones.

Applications are now open for Midlands artists to take part in First Bite, a festival of new work programmed by independent theatre studio China Plate. First Bite has been showcasing and promoting the best of Midlands theatre talent since 2009, and this year will take place online in September.

Featuring a range of artforms and practitioners, the programme represents the culmination of months of planning and preparation. Alongside the live work, McGrath has announced a permanent addition to the Fuel rosta - Fuel Digital. A place where digital streams of new and existing work are presented through Fuel's own web platform. 

The series features more than 100 artists, commentators and thought leaders, with 23 commissions, performances from some of the UK’s most exciting names in contemporary arts and entertainment, and testimonies from the public.

Cambridge Junction today announces the experimental digital production Recovering Misogynist written and read by Rachel Mariner will be available to watch from 12 August at 7pm.

Responding to the needs of healthcare workers and aspiring young producers in the Midlands, independent production studio China Plate and Warwick Arts Centre are working together on digital projects designed to serve their communities. Both projects are supported by Coventry City of Culture 2021.
