For the fourth consecutive year, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, in partnership with The Renaissance Hotel Ballroom Harlem, will present their annual benefit event, 'Hold ‘Em In Harlem'.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem has announced a special event, 'Renaissance Reborn: Reimagining the Past, Igniting the Future,' commemorating 100 years of the Harlem Renaissance and 25 years of CTH.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem has announced it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $75,000.00.

On Monday, December 18th, 2023 The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH), hosted a night of holiday entertainment hosted by actor Ethan Hawke. The theatre's annual show was dedicated to longtime trustee Andre Braugher who sadly recently passed away. CTH will be dedicating their entire 2024 season to the actor.

Following her acclaimed choreography for the Public Theater’s summer 2023 production of The Tempest at The Delacorte Theater, the multi-talented artist Tiffany Rea-Fisher has been chosen as National Dance Institute’s (NDI) Artist-in-Residence for 2024.

The Old Globe Theatre is going for the gold with their World Premier  THE XIXTH (The 19th).  The show is funny, and thought-provoking, and shows that sadly, the issues of protesting systematic racism and looking for freedom and equality are still as relevant now as it was then.  THE XIXTH is playing at  The  Old Globe through April 23rd.

NYU Skirball will present The Classical Theatre of Harlem’s acclaimed production of Twelfth Night, winner of two 2022 AUDELCO Awards, running February 11 – 19 at NYU Skirball.

NYU’s 181 Mercer Street building, opening spring 2023, will become home to a permanent and evolving memorial to the African Grove Theatre, the first Black theater in the country that made history on the corner of Mercer and Bleecker Streets in 1821.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of “The Scream: A Musical Comedy Fantasy,” on Monday, June 13, at 7 p.m. The live performance will be captured on film for on-demand streaming, from Thursday, June 16 through Sunday, June 19. The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival announced today performance dates and casting for its 2022 Summer Season, the first season at its new home. The season will begin on July 7, 2022 with Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, which will conclude on September 18.
