New York's Hudson Stage To Present DIVIDING ASHES 6/4, 'Divas on Hudson' Gala on 7/24

On July 24, the Hudson Stage Company of Croton on Hudson, New York, will host its annual gala fundraiser, 'Divas on Hudson.' The event will be hosted on a Hudson River property in Montrose. It will be tented rain or shine and will have seating available, in addition to expansive grounds for picnicking. The evening will feature a sunset concert with Broadway singers, a silent auction, wine and cheese, dessert, coffee and the view. Performers at past events have included Audra McDonald, Ann Hampton Callaway, Lauren Kennedy, Liz Callaway, Barbara Walsh, and Shoshana Bean.

Jeunesses Musicales Ontario is pleased to present two of its star alumni: world-renowned violinist James Ehnes and award-winning pianist, Jamie Parker, in an intimate one-hour recital hosted by the popular broadcaster, and arts journalist Eric Friesen. While they have performed chamber music together before, this is their first appearance as a duo. The repertoire for this programme features Beethoven's Romance in G, Op. 40; Bach's Partita No. 3 for solo violin; and Schumann's Sonata in A Op. 105. This benefit supports Jeunesses Musicales Ontario, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. The event includes a cocktail reception in Glenn Gould Studio's foyer at 7 PM, with the concert to follow. Tickets are $75. There are a limited number of Patron tickets available at $225 each, which include an exclusive post-event reception with the artists, and a $150 tax receipt. These tickets can be purchased online at www.jmontario.ca.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Presents an all-male production of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM June 30 through July 11. Directing the production will be Jessica Stone. Starring as Pseudolus is Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald. Also starring in the production are Graham Rowat, Josh Grisetti, Kevin Cahoon and Paul Castree, as well as David Costibile, Zackary Grady, Adam Lerman, Chivas Michael, Bryce Pinkham, Joe Reid, Jeremy Shamos, David Turner and John Patrick Walker.

Bacon Joins Carell For New Warner Bros. Film

Kevin Bacon will join Steve Carell in an untitled Dan Fogelman-Steve Carell project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will direct the movie for Warner Bros. Filming will begin in late April.

Huntington Theatre Co. Launches Initiative to Support New Playwrights

Boston's Huntington Theatre Company was recently profiled in the New York Times, where they said they wanted to strengthen their already solid relationship with new playwrights. Boston's largest theatre company already offers fellowships to playwrights and allows them opportunities for readings and feedback from audiences, but Artistic Director Peter DuBois said he wants to encourage new writers even more.
