Spirited, a new holiday musical adventure starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell has officially begun filming, and it looks like the film's stars are bonding through music on camera and behind the scenes.

Artistic Director of Collingwood Summer Music Festival Daniel Vnukowski will host Summer Solstice Series this month. The four-part presentation will include Celebrating Robert Burns with R.H. Thomson and Mr. Vnukowski (June 16, 7 p.m. EDT) and more.

On Saturday, May 22nd at 7:00pm EST, Play-PerView will live stream AYA or Dear Lover by Fernanda Coppel (King Liz, “How To Get Away With Murder”).  Directed by Estefania Fadul, this production will feature Raul Castillo (“Looking,” “Atypical”), Tina Huang (“Rizzoli & Isles,” “Arrow”), and Roxana Ortega (“The Casagrandes,” “American Vandal”). 

Though final eligibility determinations have not yet been announced, word from industry insiders is that the cutoff will be February 19, 2020- meaning that two shows that opened before the Broadway shutdown will not be considered for nominations- Girl From the North Country and West Side Story. Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of eleven Broadway productions for the 2020 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2019-2020 season to decide the eligibility for the 74th Annual Tony Awards.

The holiday season is officially over, and so is A Christmas Carol. The play concludes its limited Broadway run at the Lyceum Theatre today, January 5, following 12 previews and 58 regular performances.

A Christmas Carol, which opened on Broadway November 20, 2019, has just broken another box office record at the Lyceum Theatre. Adapted by Jack Thorne and directed by Matthew Warchus, A Christmas Carol grossed $954,054.40 over nine performances for the week ending December 29. It tops the house record previously held by Oh, Hello, the Nick Kroll and John Mulaney comedy that grossed $911,602 for the week ending January 1, 2017.

Marley is still dead to begin with, and near the end we're still reminded of Tiny Tim's observation, 'God bless Us, Every One!' But in between... Let's just say I never thought I'd have to fact-check the plot before reviewing a production of A Christmas Carol.
