Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that they will be holding a nationwide open casting call for the most sought-after role on Broadway, the title role in Beautiful -The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter. The show's casting directors will hold an open call for 'Carole King' at New York City's Ripley Grier Studios (520 Eighth Avenue) on Friday, January 16, 2015 and will also search nationally for Caroles and other cast members for the Broadway, touring and international productions of the smash hit musical. The production will replace THE MILK TRAIN DOESN'T STOP HERE ANYMORE, which was to feature Olympia Dukakis. Due to family commitments, Ms. Dukakis will be unable to appear in the production. Seasons seven and eight will each feature eight all new episodes. The popular drama, which wrapped its sixth season on September 2, remains a top 10 series on its night, averaging 3.36M total viewers. The series will celebrate its 100th episode in season eight. Next up on its Main Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents the Bard's epic pageant play Henry VIII. Centered around the tug-of-wars between church and state and husband and wife, the play culminates in the birth of England's future Queen Elizabeth I, Shakespeare's great patron and Henry's fierce and very female heir. Performances begin October 15 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue in Madison. Tickets start at $25 for preview performances and $32 for regular performances. Student rush tickets for all performances are $15, available a half-hour before curtain for with a valid student ID. Scott is playing the role of Astrov, the forlorn visionary philosopher in this timeless play in which tempers flare and passions are ignited when an aging professor returns with his beautiful young wife to his family's country estate. In an interesting spin, the Weston production is set in contemporary Vermont.
