Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new Off-Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's Tony Award-winning Into the Woods. Directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, this production premiered in May 2013 at the McCarter Theatre in association with the Fiasco Theater. Into the Woods officially opened last night, January 22, 2015 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). TONY, Emmy and NAACP Award winner Phylicia Rashad (A Raisin In The Sun, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, The Cosby Show), TONY nominee Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike, Disney's Into The Woods), TONY nominee Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, The Heidi Chronicles), TONY, Olivier and Emmy Award winner Alan Cumming (Cabaret, Macbeth, CBS's The Good Wife), and TONY winner Laura Benanti (Gypsy, In the Next Room / The Vibrator Play, ABC's Nashville) have all been photographed by Jason Zeren for The Creative Faces Project. Bryce Pinkham, who is currently starring in 2014's Tony Award Winner for Best Musical A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, has even more then performing at the Walter Kerr Theatre eight times a week to think about. Pinkham is the co-founder of an organization called Zara Aina (meaning 'Share Life') which brings theatre to at-risk children in Madagascar. During the months of rehearsal leading up to her Broadway debut, Elise will also star in William Shakespeare's THE TRAGEDY OF ROMEO AND JULIET as the title character, Juliet at The Gym at Judson (243 Thompson Street), which begins previews Wednesday, January 14th and opens on Sunday, January 18th. Producers have announced that Ali Ahn will play the role of Susan Johnston, Leighton Bryan will play the roles of Jill/Debbie/Lisa, Elise Kibler will play the roles of Becky/Clara/Denise, and Andy Truschinski will play the roles of Chris Boxer/Mark/Waiter/Ray in the first Broadway revival of the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning Wendy Wasserstein play The Heidi Chronicles. This will be the Broadway debut for Ahn and Truschinski, and, with the exception of understudy roles, this will also be the Broadway debut for Bryan and Kibler. (more...)

The reigning Tony Award-winning Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, will welcome a new Monty Navarro when Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham takes a temporary leave of absence to co-star in the limited Broadway enagement of The Heidi Chronicles. Assuming the role of Monty beginning on Tuesday, January 20 will be original ensemble member and Monty understudy Jeff Kready, whose other Broadway credits include Billy Elliot: The Musical and the revivals of Sunday in the Park with George and Les Miserables.
