Jake Lacy Joins Bryce Pinkham as Co-Host of Next Week's BROADWAY SINGS ITS HEART OUT

It was announced today that Jake Lacy will join the Tony-nominated co-star of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Bryce Pinkham, as co-host of Broadway Sings Its Heart Out. Lacy is known for his portrayal of Pete Miller on NBC's 'The Office,' and as co-star of this summer's acclaimed film Obvious Child. Next season, Lacy will appear on HBO's 'Girls.' (more...)

The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, just welcomed an array of award-winning performers for Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, its annual benefit concert, which was held last night, July 21, at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place, NYC). Special guests included: Adam Chanler-Berat, Justin Guarini, Zach Unger, Barrett Foa, Lena Hall, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Condola Rashad, Robin de Jesus, Seth Rudetsky, Telly Leung and more! Like their BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, the team used brilliant and inspired anachronisms to make the Shakespearean comedy relevant for modern audiences. They also did it as a musical. As previously reported, the Tony Awards Administration Committee determined that Best Sound Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Musical Categories would be eliminated from the established list of competitive categories, beginning with the 2014-2015 season. The Tony Administration Committee may bestow a Special Tony Award to a production when it determines that extraordinary sound design has been achieved. (more...)
