Tony Award nominee Jennifer Damiano will play her final performance as Natalie in the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Next to Normal on Sunday, July 18 at 7:30p.m. As previously announced, Tony Award winner Alice Ripley and two-time Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James will also play their final performance on that date. Meghann Fahy will assume the role of Natalie on Monday, July 19th.

The Human Race Theatre, Dayton's own professional theatre company, will be presenting three new musicals over the weekend of July 16-18 - one about a fictional country singer, one about a real pop legend, and one that will be whatever springs from the minds of some of the most creative teens in the region.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Brian Yorkey, who just won the Pulitzer Prize for NEXT TO NORMAL has joined the creative team of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, working on Terrence McNally's book. His work is said to have been very well received and the show is said to be fully on track for a Spring opening on Broadway.

Whatsonstage.com is furthing speculation first reported by BroadwayWorld on May 4 that Sting may be bringing an autobiographical musical to Broadway in the near future. It was reported then that the singer/songwriter is collaborating with Next to Normal's Brian Yorkey on the project, which is believed that it is inspired by Sting's memoir, Broken Music. No word on whether or not the score would be original.

Denver Center Attractions has announced a high-spirited season of Broadway hits headed to Denver. The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop is now accepting applications for its first year composer/lyricist class. The August 1, 2010 deadline is quickly approaching and applicants are asked to send in the requested materials as soon as possible. The Workshop begins September 21, 2010 and runs through June 2011. A recipient of the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre Award, the Lehman Engel Musical Workshop consists of approximately 250 composers, lyricists and book writers who are actively writing new works for the musical theatre.

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, the Manhattan Theatre Club will present a reading of the new musical STUNT GIRL (book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg, music by David Friedman) as part of their Ernst C. Stiefel '7@7' reading series. The Village Theatre of Issaquah, Washington, where STUNT GIRL was first presented in 2005, has now reported that Brian Yorkey, bookwriter and lyricist of NEXT TO NORMAL and former artistic director of the Village Theatre, will direct the reading.

Monday, May 17, Tony Award nominee Brian d'Arcy James returned to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Next to Normal for a special limited engagement. d'Arcy James was the original 'Dan Goodman' in the Second Stage Theatre off-Broadway production of the acclaimed musical, and took on the role of 'Shrek' in Shrek: The Musical as Next to Normal continued it's development in workshop and at the Arena Stage in Washington D.C.

The New York Times is reporting that real-life married couple Marrin Mazzie and Jason Danieley will be taking over the lead roles in Next to Normal on July 19th. This will mark the couple's first on-stage pairing in a Broadway show.
