Ogunquit Playhouse Welcomes New Associate Producer

The Ogunquit Playhouse has announced the appointment of Brian Swasey to the position of Associate Producer. Brian is no stranger to the Playhouse as he directed the productions of The Berenstain Bears, and The Cat In The Hat. He is also no stranger to the seacoast area; he is originally from Portland, Maine, and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Musical Theatre and Dance. Brian Swasey recently stated, 'Growing up in New England, and seeing many shows at the Ogunquit Playhouse, I leapt at the chance to return to the area and become a part of the Playhouse family as the new Associate Producer."

NY Theatre Barn New Work Series to Feature Deaf Composer, 11/17

On November 17th, patrons have one chance to see a New York Theatre Barn (The Barn) exclusive Pre-­Premiere* of the new musicals, ROBOTICUS and SOMETHING BLUE at the Daryl Roth Theatre's D-Lounge. The Barn is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre company whose sole mission is 'to give theatre a chance.' For the first time in the series' seven-year history, both presentations will include wireless captions for the deaf/HOH audience members, which can be accessed on personal cellular devices.

On September 22nd, you have one chance to see a New York Theatre Barn (The Barn) exclusive Pre-Premiere* of the new musicals, MARRYING ME and SEAWIFE at the Daryl Roth Theatre's D-Lounge at 7:30 pm. MARRYING ME's book is by Mark Beau de Silva, with lyrics by EllaRose Chary and music by Onn San. SEAWIFE is created by New York City based indie-folk band The Lobbyists in collaboration with Seth Moore and director Liz Carlson. CRT to Close Summer Season with RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH, 8/27-9/13

Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 43rd annual summer season of quality live theatre with the foot-stoppin', hand-clappin' musical revue "Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash", which was created by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by William Meade. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 27 - September 13 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 29 and 31, and September 3, 7 and 10 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org.

Brian Swasey Named Managing Director of NY Theatre Barn

The Board of Directors of New York Theatre Barn (The Barn), the only 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre company whose sole mission is "to give theatre a chance," announced today that Brian Swasey has been appointed as its Managing Director, effective immediately. Swasey will work alongside Joe Barros, founder and Artistic Director of the company. Swasey's primary responsibility will be to manage business operations of the company. In addition, he will assist Barros in programming and producing The Barn's presentations.

A timeless tale turned Broadway hit, The Secret Garden is the final production of the White Plains Performing Arts Center's 2011-2012 Mainstage season. This award winning family musical is based on the beloved classic novel of the same name, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The Secret Garden runs from tonight, May 11 through May 27.
