The Tony-winning star will sing holiday classics (and some new pieces) with the New York Philharmonic this weekend.

The New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 season includes Tony Award-winning vocalist and Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, making his NY Phil debut with A Broadway Christmas, a special holiday program conducted by Ted Sperling, tonight and tomorrow, December 20-21, 2013. The versatile singer will perform Broadway favorites and holiday repertoire.

Man Of La Mancha returns to the stage in an all-new production of the Tony Award winning musical that has inspired audiences since the very first notes of "The Impossible Dream" were heard on opening night. Celebrity Series of Boston will present Broadway and film star Brian Stokes Mitchell on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 8pm at Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall, Harvard University, 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge.

The National YoungArts Foundation today announced its 2014 YoungArts Winners. Out of approximately 11,000 applications, 687 young artists from 46 states have been recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments in one of ten disciplines across the literary, performing, visual and design arts fields. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will perform the world concert premiere of Macy's Yes, Virginia in Concert at 2 p.m. today, December 14, at Music Hall. The family-friendly performance is developed and presented by Macy's and will feature John Morris Russell conducting the Pops along with singers and actors in a semi-staged adaptation under the stage direction of Patrick Boyd. Headlining the cast for the world concert premiere are Broadway veterans Liz Callaway, performing the role of Miriam, and Norm Lewis, as Mr. Church.

Beloved Broadway, television and film star and multi-award winning performer Brian Stokes Mitchell will present a special event at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre at 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, an intimate 90-minute concert - entitled Brian Stokes Mitchell: Simply Broadway - to showcase his newest album for the benefit of the Theatre and The Actors Fund.

The role of eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon will be performed by Gracie Alexander. This will be the world premiere performance of the fully orchestrated concert version of the musical with book and lyrics by William Schermerhorn and music by Wesley Whatley. "Yes, Virginia The Musical" was created by Macy's in 2012 as part of its annual holiday Believe campaign.
