Oscar(R) -winning composer Hans Zimmer and Grammy(R) Award-winning songwriter and producer Pharrell Williams will serve as music consultants for the 84th Academy Awards, telecast producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer announced today. This will be the first time the composers have worked on the Oscar show.

According to Deadline.com, the movie version of Fox's popular TV series '24' is set to start filming in April, 2012. Kiefer Sutherland will reprise his role of government spy Jack Bauer in the film version of the series. The script comes from Billy Ray and Mark Bomback.

His eight times as the M.C. is second only to Bob Hope's 18 in most ceremonies hosted.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, comedian Ricky Gervais has offered to take over the job of hosting the 2012 Academy Awards. As recently reported, Gervais is currently in talks with NBC to return as host of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

Selznick Achievement Award in Motion Pictures.
