Casting Announced For IT'S COMPLICATED In Virtual Rochester Fringe

'It's Complicated', an evening of three short plays written by playwright Derek Roland, has announced casting for it's Rochester Fringe Festival production. The show will be featured during the Virtual Fringe which runs September 15th-26th and will be available on demand throughout the festival.

This week, Molly Smith and the cast of Anything Goes at Arena Stage chose to honor and support Indigenous Peoples' Day (Oct 8). Just as those at sea use Morse code to send SOS alerts, the cast of Anything Goes -- joined by Molly's partner, Suzanne Blue Star Boy -- taps out a call to action in the video below to bring awareness to the epidemic of murdered, kidnapped, and missing Native women in the United States and Canada:

Parallel Exit Performs At Usdan Summer Camp For The Arts

Parallel Exit, the three-time Drama Desk nominee for Unique Theatrical Experience, brought its unique brand of physical comedy to Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts.  Today's performance featured Artistic Director Mark Lonergan with Joel Jeske and Brent McBeth, shown here with a few of the Usdan campers.  They wowed the close to 1600-person crowd with an updated vaudeville style clowning which included jokes, magic and feats of wonder. The performance was presented as part of Usdan's 50th anniversary Festival series which has also included Flor de Toloache, an all female mariachi band; Mayhem Poets, and Sole Defined, among others.

National Endowment for the Arts to Award More Than $82 Million for Arts Projects Nationwide, Including Big Apple Circus

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016. Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $30,000 to support Big Apple Circus' renowned community outreach programs: Clown Care®, Circus of the Senses, Big Apple Circus Embraces Autism, and Vaudeville Visits. This is the circus' third year of funding for the programs, helping to bring the arts to under-served populations for yet another season.

Big Apple Circus hosted its annual Holiday Season Family Benefit, a special event that raises funds for the nonprofit performing arts institution's community programs, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 under the Big Top in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center (62nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues), and featured comedian Jim Gaffigan as Guest Ringmaster. The event was attended by 1,100 audience members and raised more than $420,000 to support the company's community programs. Scroll down for photos!
