Theatre fans opened their hearts and wallets Sunday at the 25th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, propelling the unrivaled outdoor event to raise an astonishing $547,658 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Two-time Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bobby Cannavale will star as Nick Arnstein opposite Lauren Ambrose, who will star as Fanny Brice, in the first Broadway revival of FUNNY GIRL since the 1964 original production. FUNNY GIRL, which features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Isobel Lennart, will be directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher. FUNNY GIRL will play at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles from January 15 through February 26, 2012. Knife Edge Productions, in association with Swinestars Productions, are presenting a revival of Stephen Belber's acclaimed play, Tape, directed by Sam Helfrich. Tape began performances September 9, and continues through September 24 in a limited engagement at the June Havoc Theatre in the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, located at 312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in New York City.

Tony Award nominee Bobby Cannavale might soon return to Broadway in the Kathleen Marshall-helmed NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, according to the NY Post. Cannavale would join the previously announced Matthew Broderick in the musical, and is currrently taking singing lessons to prepare for the role. No official casting announcement has been made.

Bobby Cannavale to Star in Season 4 of NURSE JACKIE!

Emmy® Award winner and two-time Tony® Award nominee Bobby Cannavale will appear as a special guest star in all 10 episodes of the fourth season of NURSE JACKIE. Cannavale will play a formidable hospital administrator sent by the new conglomerate that buys the financially beleaguered All Saint's Hospital to improve the hospital's efficiency and profitability, but his arrival is sure to shake things up. Production on season four begins in September in New York for a 2012 premiere.

Following a heartfelt and entertaining memorial for Sidney Lumet at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall with speakers and performers including Lauren Bacall, Walter Bernstein, Bobby Cannavale, Glenn Close, Jonathan Demme, James Gandolfini, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jenny Lumet, David Mamet, Phylilis Newman and Christopher Walken among others, the Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced the details today for a retrospective of the admired and beloved director's work, Prince of the City: Remembering Sidney Lumet which will screen at the Walter Reade Theater July 19 - 25.
