A fairytale is brought to its full fruition on the stage of the Fabulous Fox Theatre with their current presentation of RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA. It's a lovely experience that makes the most of the large stage, filling it with songs and beautiful surroundings fit such a lavishly told tale. Originally conceived and broadcast as a musical for television during the late 1950's and starring Julie Andrews in the title role, this work has been altered many times over the years with musical numbers added and subtracted, and the plot rejiggered as well (book by Douglas Carter Beane) to make it have a more political bent, at least where Cinderella's feelings toward how the kingdom is being are concerned. But, here we have a production that's suitable for children of all ages. In other words, perfect family entertainment.

Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: Two awards ceremonies are held today, YouTube star Christina Bianco leads APPLICATION PENDING off-Broadway, and a slew of concerts spread across the city!

The producers of Broadway's newest comedy Living on Love just announced that Tony Award nominee Douglas Sills, 2-time Emmy Award nominee Anna Chlumsky, Blake Hammond and Scott Robertson will join 4-time Grammy Award winner Renee Fleming in the production. Living on Love, by two-time Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, based on the play Peccadillo by Garson Kanin, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, begins performances on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 and opens on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of South Pacific and The Sound of Music, will play the Fabulous Fox Theatre for a limited engagement from January 20 - February 1.

Joe DiPIetro's LIVING ON LOVE, which premiered earlier this year at Williamstown Theatre Festival, could soon be making its way to New York.

Based upon the fairy tale Cinderella, particularly the French version Cendrillon, ou la Petite Pantoufle de Verre, by Charles Perrault. The story concerns a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed into an elegant young lady and is able to attend the ball to meet her Prince, but, in this version, she must open the Prince's eyes to the injustice in his kingdom.

Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA tour has been underway for almost a month, starring Paige Faure in the title role, and they just released a performance video of Aymee Garcia and the ensemble singing 'Stepsister's Lament.' Check out the clip below!
