Tamara Tunie  celebrated a variety of composers and singers at Feinstein's/54 Below last night and Broadwayworld was there. The 'MASH UP', included her favorites fromLEGENDS from the BURGH and her debut cabaret performance YES, I SING!, that not even hurricane Sandy could prevent from being a huge success! If you missed it, it's a MUST SEE! One critic wrote: 'Tunie not only entertained, she helped restore the sparkle to a city known for its resiliency.'

TheatreLAB, Richmond's home for unexpected and evocative performance, is proud to present Lanie Robertson's LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR AND GRILL, starring local theatre favorite Katrinah Carol Lewis as Billie Holiday. The production is the first show of TheatreLAB's 2015-16 season, 'A Vivid Impression of Reality,' and will run tonight, November 12th to December 12th at TheatreLAB's venue, The Basement (300 East Broad Street). In recognition of the ongoing support provided by the family of actor, director, comedian, writer, and Tisch alumnus Billy Crystal, Tisch Dean Allyson Green announced yesterday that Tisch School of the Arts will officially rename its theater at 111 Second Avenue the 'Jack Crystal Theater,' in memory of Crystal's father, jazz impresario Jack Crystal. Ballet Hispanico, celebrating 45 years of repertory that reflects the ever-changing diversity of Latino cultures, makes its annual holiday return to the Apollo stage with additional performances from November 20-21, 2015. The performances are sponsored by Univision Communications Inc. Led by Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro in his sixth season, Ballet Hispanico will present the world premiere of If walls could speak, an evening-length work choreographed by Fernando Melo and co-commissioned by the Apollo Theater on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 8pm and Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 8pm. For the first time at the Apollo Theater, Ballet Hispanico will also present a specially-priced family matinee, Saturday en Familia, on Saturday, November 21 at 2pm. Two Ballet Hispanico Performances for Young People / Apollo School Day Live shows of mixed repertory celebrating Latin American dance and culture will be offered to schoolchildren on the morning of Friday, November 20, presented through the Education programs of Ballet Hispanico and the Apollo Theater.

This December, the acclaimed Off-Broadway Axis Theatre Company will present its 14th annual beloved family holiday show, Seven in One Blow, or the Brave Little Kid. Adapted from the classic fairy tale by The Brothers Grimm, this festive, interactive winter play is written and directed by Axis Artistic Director Randy Sharp.

20th Annual Billie Holiday Vocal Competition winner Kerensa Gray will perform 'Jazz Legends: The Essential Women of Jazz' today, October 23 at 7:30 pm in the Ware Center's atrium. Kerensa Gray is often compared to the likes of jazz royalty - Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and contemporaries such as Diana Krall. This performance is a look back at the women of jazz who continue to captivate generations with their unique voices and stories woven into the history of this country, as well as a glimpse of some favorite contemporaries. All tickets include complimentary beverage service which begins at 7:00 PM with concerts beginning at 7:30 PM. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

The Wilmette Theatre is proud to partner with the Music Institute of Chicago to screen the jazz documentary 'Lady Be Good' with a post-screening talk-back led by filmmaker Kay D. Ray.
