BROADWAY BEARS Sets Record $198,300 in Sales

The 15th and grand finale edition of THE BROADWAY BEARS, the annual auction of handmade, one-of-a-kind, theatrically costumed teddy bears, raised a record-setting $198,300 on Sunday, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Bay Street Theatre today announced the KIDS SCHOOL VACATION THEATRE CAMP April 9-13; 9 am - 3 pm daily. Back by popular demand, this week long session will include classes and games incorporating every aspect of theatre: acting, singing, dance, improv & more. Students will write and perform in their own original production. The April camp will be led by Susan Galardi and Bethany Dellapolla.

Last week, Segerstrom Center for the Arts (formerly the Orange County Performing Arts Center) announced its brand new Cabaret Series for the 2012 - 2013 Season. Once again, familiar Broadway talent will make up most of the Center's impressive Cabaret series, which include Tony Winners Lea Salonga, Betty Buckley, and Barbara Cook. Rounding out the line-up are husband-and-wife Broadway stars Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley, and Grammy-nominated artists Michael Feinstein and Jane Monheit (with the John Pizzarelli Quartet).

The singer, actress and comedienne Kaye Ballard, the Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter and actress Dee Dee Bridgewater, and the jazz trumpeter and cornetist Warren Vaché will be the special honorees of the 2012 Bistro Awards on Monday, April 23 at 6:30pm. The one-night-only event continues to grow in popularity and success in supporting the work of Broadway Cares and the Center. Last year's record-breaking $281,200 topped the previous year's total of more than $186,700.
