WICKED Opens at Orpheum Theatre, 8/11

The Riverside Theatre, Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre and Walk Tall Girl Productions will present Obie Award-winner Daniel Beaty in EMERGENCY, an updated version of his critically acclaimed solo play EMERGENCE-SEE! Once again directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, EMERGENCY will have a limited engagement of only four performances, Thursday, August 5 - Saturday, August 7 at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, August 8 at 3:00 p.m. at The Riverside Theatre, 91 Claremont Avenue. Tickets for all performances are $20 and can be purchased online at www.theriversidetheatre.org, by phone at 212.870.6784 or in person at the Theater box office (Thursday-Saturday 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, noon - 4:00 p.m.).

Marcus Center For The Performing Arts Offers Lottery Seats For WICKED 7/14-8/8

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held daily for WICKED, which will be performing from July 14- August 8 at the Marcus Center. Each day, 2½ hours prior to show time people who present themselves at the Marcus Center Box Office will have their names placed in a lottery drum and then thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only.

Last night, July 26, the Town Hall hosted ALL SINGIN' ALL DANCIN,' an exhilarating extravaganza of song and dance directed and choreographed by Jeffrey Denman (YANK!, WHITE CHRISTMAS). Inspired by the legendary Broadway dance of The Astaires, Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, Gower Champion, Bob Fosse, and Jerome Robbins, the show consisted of original choreography created exclusively for the concert and was set to some of the greatest show music ever written including 'Slaughter on Tenth Avenue' and 'Cell Block Tango.' The Vancouver premiere of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, July 15 at 7:30pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, August 8. In Vancouver, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday evening 6:30pm, Saturday matinees at 2pm, Sunday matinees at 1pm with an additional matinee performance on Wednesday, August 4 at 2pm. There will be no 6:30pm performance on Sunday, August 8.
