MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced its annual FreshPlay Festival of new plays by members of the youth company. The FreshPlay Festival merges the voices and creativity of urban youth with the experience of professionals, creating provocative, innovative and fresh theater. This year, the FreshPlay Festival will focus on the workshop process with ten original plays penned by MCC Theater Youth Company playwrights. These young writers will work with a roster of professional directors, actors and peers from the Youth Company's Acting Lab.

Knight, with additional cast members to be announced shortly. The readings will take place on Thursday, June 3, Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). Proceeds will benefit MCC Theater's Playwrights' Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series, and literary development activities.

The benefit, 'Got Talent?' is a spin-off of the popular TV show of the same name. 'Got Talent?' will be held at the Times Square Art Center.
