The season as a whole, and the nine premieres that comprise it, make a timely contribution to national and international conversations about women's agency. Part Greek tragedy, part family play, part history play, Mourning Becomes Electra (O'Neill's 1931 adaptation of Aeschylus 'The Oresteia') mashes myth, Freudian psychology and melodrama into an epic six hour production.
