After an intense contract campaign that included the first-ever strike authorization at a digital news site, the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) today announced that the editorial staff at Thrillist unanimously ratified its first union contract.

AFI FEST presented by Audi will close with the World Premiere of Focus Features and Working Title's MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS.  Directed by Josie Rourke and written by Academy Award® nominee Beau Willimon, the historical drama is based on John Guy's biography, “Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart.”  The film stars Academy Award® nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, along with Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Martin Compston, Ismael Cordova, Brendan Coyle, Ian Hart, Adrian Lester, James McArdle, David Tennant and Guy Pearce.  The Closing Night Gala will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.

Nomad Motel - a fresh, coming of age comedy-drama about an American and a Chinese family whose lives are unexpectedly linked - makes its Southern debut as the finale of Horizon Theatre Company's "New American Dreams Series" this fall.  

Vermont Shakespeare Festival will present the U.S. premiere of a new version of the only classical play starring two women in power, Friedrich Schiller's Mary Stuart.  It will be presented as a staged reading, the latest in the Salon Series, on Saturday, October 6th at 7 p.m. at the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro, and on Sunday, October 7th at 3 p.m. in the McCarthy Recital Hall at St. Michael's College.  This is a rarely seen epic in a fresh and lean adaptation.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to announce the complete casting and directors for the first four shows of its 2018/19 season: Downstate by Pulitzer Prize-winning ensemble member Bruce Norris; Familiar by Danai Gurira; La Ruta by Isaac Gomez; and A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath.
