Bay Area Cabaret continues its 2011-2012 season on October 22, 2011 with renowned veteran of stage, screen and film, Tony-nominated actor/singer Peter Gallagher in the West Coast premiere of his critically acclaimed cabaret show SONGS AND STORIES.

The Tony Award winning actress Yvonne Constant premieres a brand new club act, 'La Différence,' in her sixth engagement at the Metropolitan Room since she began appearing at the intimate concert venue in 2008.

Superb from beginning to end, 4-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald's one-night-only solo concert at the lush Renee & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on October 15--her only Southern California stop before her return to Broadway in the revival of PORGY & BESS--was a musical testament as to why she's earned her place as a genuine Broadway superstar. John Bucchino's 'It's Only Life,' featuring the Australian Cast (Christian Cavallo, Phoebe Coupe, Zack Anthony Curran, Madeleine Featherby, Laura Fitzpatrick, Sam Rabbone and Cameron Thomas) with John Bucchino at the piano plays BIRDLAND on Monday, November 14 at 7pm.

Today we are featuring the luminescent and golden-voiced Melissa Errico and talking to her all about her sumptuous new album LEGRAND AFFAIR - featuring the music of famed Broadway and Hollywood composer Michel Legrand - and how the labor of love five years in the making has finally come to light with this week's highly-anticipated release of the romantic and moving album. In addition to analyzing the process of putting the project together alongside the legendary Legrand, Errico also shares her thoughtful and passionate insights into the many different worlds inherent in the evocative songs themselves - many with lyrics by Barbra Streisand's constant collaborators, Alan and Marilyn Bergman - and how closely Errico worked with album producers Phil Ramone and Richard Jay-Alexander on perfecting the sound, style, mood and final song list of LEGRAND AFFAIR. The world's premier Streisand impressionist Steven Bringberg has performed on national TV shows The Rosie O'Donnel Show, Sally Jessy Raphael and at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, London's Royal Albert Hall (with Elton John and George Michael), as well as touring regularly with symphonies with Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award- winning composer Marvin Hamlisch (who wrote the Streisand classic The Way We Were) will also be performing songs from Streisand's just released CD What Matters Most and other classics from her 50 year recording legacy.

New York City Center will reopen following a historic renovation and modernization with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and star-studded gala on Tuesday, October 25 at New York City Center. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will conduct The Encores! Orchestra in the opening number (as a nod to Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, who conducted the New York Philharmonic when City Center opened as a performing arts center in 1943).

Nashville actor Scott Rice's new production company, Falling Frog Creations, presents John Bucchino's It's Only Life in celebration of Rice's birthday, at Street Theatre Company, 1933 Elm Hill Pike, October 7-9. While this cabaret retrospective of the music of composer John Bucchino is the inaugural production of this new production company, it also coincides with the birthday celebration of its founder, Rice. Joining Rice onstage will be Megan Chambers, Tyson Laemmel and Olivia Skurka. Rollie Mains serves as musical director and accompanist.

From the Great White Way to the Champs-Elysees, Chanson d'amour is a journey through the Great French Songbook from an American perspective. Led by two of the most illustrious cabaret singers ever to grace the stage, Amanda McBroom and Lee Lessack, Chanson d'amour explores the works of such French composers as Jacques Brel, Michael Legrand, Charles Aznavour and Gilbert Bécaud.
