Guest conductor Jack Everly joins the Utah Symphony on May 2-3 for a trip down memory lane at Abravanel Hall. This special concert, celebrating the Baby Boom generation, highlights songs and television shows from the 1960s. The program features music by the Beach Boys, Frankie Valli, and the Beatles, and guest vocalists Roy Chicas, Jim Hogan, Marissa McGowan, N'Kenge, Kristine Reese and Max Quinlan.

Comedian Dennis Miller is to perform with fellow Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey on Thursday at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino near Highland. Miller says that Carvey is, “the funniest human being on planet earth.' He goes on to say, “He burns it down. Listen, I'm not pawing the ground because I do pretty well. But Dana ... it's like the greatest hits from a magician.”

The Harold Clurman Lab Theater, the professional wing of the Art of Acting Studio, is proud to present The West Coast premiere of Muckrakers by Zayd Dohrn (Long Way ago Down, Outside People, Haymarket, Sick). Directed by Don K. Williams (Off-Broadway Lebensraum, Turn of the Screw, Look Back in Anger, Libidoff), Muckrakers will play Fridays & Saturdays at 8PM, May 30 - July 2, 2014, with the final two performances playing Monday and Tuesday, respectively. The Lab Theater's most recent work in Los Angeles include the Ovation-recommended run of Lebensraum by Israel Horovitz, and Ovation-nominated run of Long Way Go Down by Zayd Dohrn.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Saturday Night Out-an LGBT event-on Saturday, May 3, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark. The NJSO will host a post-concert champagne and dessert reception for ticketholders who are LGBT community members and friends. President Nancy J. Uscher has announced that Cornish College of the Arts will award honorary degrees at this year's commencement to ground-breaking American playwright Tony Kushner and to Deborah F. Rutter, president-elect of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Mr. Kushner is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Tony and Emmy Awards, and a recipient of the National Medal for Arts. One of the nation's leading arts administrators, Ms. Rutter assumes leadership of the Kennedy Center in September. Most recently she has served as president of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and, prior to that, she was the executive director of the Seattle Symphony.
