Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will present 9 songs from 9 new musicals at Songs of our Summer, their annual fundraiser live-streamed on November 12, 2020 at 7:30pm EST. Broadway artists participating include George Salazar (BE MORE CHILL, GODSPELL), Taylor Trensch (TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, DEAR EVAN HANSEN) and more.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) just presented Intersecting Chords, the annual NYMF concert that celebrates female, trans, and non-binary songwriters who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. Intersecting Chords was directed by Shelley Butler, music directed by Charity Wicks, and produced by Hannah Lang.

Susanna Wolk (Choir Boy, Waitress, Finding Neverland) will be joining the team of  the world premiere production of LEAVING EDEN as the director.  Previously announced director James Monaghan will be departing the production to Asolo Repertory Theatre as their new Dramaturg/Literary Manager. 

NEW YORK MUSICAL FESTIVAL and LEAVING EDEN, LLC are announcing the world premiere production of LEAVING EDEN, with book and lyrics by Jenny Waxman, music by Ben Page, additional music by Ada Westfall, and directed by James Monaghan as an Official Selection of the 2019 New York Musical Festival's Next Link Project.

Sincerely, Oscar a new musical celebrating Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein, with book by Doreen Taylor and directed by Dugg McDonough (artistic director, LSU Opera; four seasons as staff stage director for the New York City Opera) will close at Theatre Row - Acorn Theatre (410 W. 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) on Sunday, May 12. SINCERELY OSCAR is the latest addition to the Off Broadway musical scene, celebrating one of Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein. With a book by Doreen Taylor, who also stars along with Azudi Onyejekwe, this show/musical revue takes you through some of the most fantastic and iconic songs associated with Mr. Hammerstein, and a few more deep cuts from shows of which you might not know.

Sincerely, Oscar is a meandering mindbender where two's company, three's a crowd, and thirty songs take us on jazzed-up journey through Show Boat, Oklahoma!, Carousel, State Fair, Allegro, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. Intriguing conceptually but lopsided musically, the clunky show presents an awkwardly-staged, amped-up glow-and-tell cabaret with a technological twist.

September 29th marked the first show of The Late Comet, a series of late-night shows at Feinstein's/54 Below featuring cast members of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
