Tarragon Theatre Presents the World Premiere of THE BAKELITE MASTERPIECE, 10/29-11/30

Tarragon Theatre proudly presents the world premiere of The Bakelite Masterpiece, written by Tarragon playwright-in-residence Kate Cayley, directed by Tarragon's Artistic Director Richard Rose and starring two award-winning, powerhouse actors, Geordie Johnson and Irene Poole. Set in the Netherlands in the aftermath of World War II, this penetrating new play exploring art, forgery and war crimes opens October 29 and runs to November 30 (with previews from October 21) in Tarragon's Extraspace. STORYSTOCK Returns To Bush Theatre, October 2014

STORYSTOCK, the travelling story circus, returns to the Bush Theatre from 28th to 30th October 2014. Storystock is a storytelling festival for children (3-11) and their families, which launched at the Bush Theatre in autumn 2013. Last year's debut festival attracted nearly 2,000 visitors in 3 days. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues their season with a Regional Premiere for the Halloween season of "The Birds" by Conor McPherson, from the short story by Daphne du Maurier October 17- November 8, 2014. This production is directed by Cincinnati Shakespeare's Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips and features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members Sara Clark, Sherman Fracher, Nicholas Rose and Brent Vimtrup. Bowman International School Hosts International Art Project, IN SEARCH OF TRUTH, 9/20

PALO ALTO, CA - Bowman International School, an innovative Montessori school serving K-8th grade students in Palo Alto, Calif., will host the first Bay Area appearance of the interactive, international art project, In Search of the Truth, on Saturday, September 20, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at 4000 Terman Drive. The public is invited to participate in this collaborative project designed to initiate cross-cultural communication through use of 'The Truth Booth' an iconic 17 foot high, 25 foot long, portable video recording studio shaped like a giant cartoon speech bubble with the word 'TRUTH' boldly printed on the side. CHICAGO (September 17, 2014) -The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago presents a preview showing of Osiris and Isis, a new evening-length story-ballet choreographed by Chicagoan Ron De Jesus and performed by his namesake company, Ron De Jesus Dance, inspired by the ancient Egyptian myth of Osiris, the god who was murdered by his brother, Seth, and resurrected by his loving wife, Isis. The preview is presented one night only in the Yelda Khorsabad Court of the Oriental Institute, 1155 E. 58th Street in Hyde Park, Friday, October 17 at 7 pm. (more...)
