Agatha Christie's 1922 thriller The Secret Adversary will receive its world stage premiere at The Watermill Theatre, Newbury on 12 February 2015 in a new adaptation by Sarah Punshon and Johann Hari. Introducing crime-fighting duo Tommy and Tuppence to the stage for the very first time, The Secret Adversary will play at The Watermill for 44 performances, prior to a six-week national tour through until 9 May. Meeting Ground Theatre Company and Nottingham Lakeside Arts will tour INSIDE OUT OF MIND, an insightful and darkly comic play that powerfully captures the multiple realities of life on a dementia ward, to six venues across England from Wednesday 18 February to Friday 27 March 2015. The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) celebrates the completion of the first phase of its renovation and expansion in downtown Asheville with the presentation of poemumbles: 30 years of Susan Weil's poem/images. Curated by Brian E. Butler, University of North Carolina Asheville Thomas Howerton Distinguished Professor of the Humanities, and Rachael Inch, Susan Weil Studio archivist and administrator, the exhibition is on view January 30 - May 23, and is accompanied by a roster of public programs. The exhibition includes over 60 of Weil's poemumbles made between 1984 and 2014. Additionally, several of her notebooks will be on display to provide a deeper look into her artistic process. Opera Atelier's 30th Anniversary Seasonwill celebrate the company's status as the busiest touring opera company in North America. A new Canadian production of Mozart's Lucio Silla (Apr. 7-16, 2016) will form the cornerstone of Opera Atelier's anniversary season in Toronto, paired with a revival of its landmark production of Armide (Oct. 22-31, 2015). The company has secured a recurring engagement at the Palace of Versailles and will present one of its Canadian-made productions at the famed Opéra Royal every second year. Armide will return to Versailles following its Toronto run in the fall of 2015. Today's announcement by founding artistic directorsMarshall Pynkoski and Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg comes just weeks before they make their debuts atLa Scala Opera House in Milan with their celebrated staging of Lucio Silla. This comedy recently played Off-Broadway at The Women's Project, after having made its debut at the Denver New Play Summit. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce a special collaborative concert with its flagship community education program, OrchKids and its Youth Orchestra, on the world renowned Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, February 6th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Under leadership of OrchKids Artistic Director Dan Trahey, Bucket Band Director Brian Prechtl, BSYO Conductor Mary Poling and OrchKids Conductor Eli Wirth, 65 children, spanning pre-kindergarten through ninth grade, will perform together for a special concert that will feature a mix of classical, jazz, pop and spiritual-inspired pieces. The ensemble will be accompanied by Chi-chi Nwanoku, Principal Double Bass and a founding member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Endymion Ensemble, on the orchestral version of Rihanna's "Stay." Opera Atelier's 2014-2015 season continues with the Berlioz version of Gluck's Orpheus and Eurydice, a timeless love story based on the Greek myth. Opera Atelier most recently produced Gluck's opera in 2007, but this will mark the company's first exploration of Berlioz's 1859 version, in which the role of Orpheus is scored for a female contralto. Opera Atelier's co-artistic directors are proud that Tafelmusik has agreed to be part of this groundbreaking project, which marks the orchestra's furthest foray into 19th century orchestration.
