Aurora Theatre Stages Pulitzer Prize Winning Playwright Nilo Cruz's PAIS DE BICICLETA, 4/7- 30

Aurora Theatre's Teatro Aurora series presents Pais de Bicicleta, from playwright Nilo Cruz (last season's Sotto Voce, a Pulitzer Prize winner for Anna in the Tropics) also part of the celebrated GGC Harvel Lab Series in the intimate Aurora Studio. Audiences will be immersed in the lives of three refugees with a lust for freedom, finally trying to make a successful journey across the sea from Havana to Miami. The play's magical realism comes with whip-fast dialogue that stings with vitality and is stitched with the Latin love of music and dance. The play is performed in Spanish with English supertitles.

A 1986 Tony Award winner, Herb Gardner's I'M NOT RAPPAPORT is the final show in the Aurora Theatre's 20th anniversary season. Through its endearing dialogue, wit and thought-provoking moments, the matinee showing on Sunday, May 8-Mother's Day-kept the audience of primarily senior citizens laughing at the relatability while reflecting on the universal truths conveyed.

The Brand Signature Series concludes Aurora Theatre's 18th season with the hysterical Don't Dress for Dinner by Marc Camoletti. The show runs May 1-25, 2014. In this this hilarious romp through the French countryside, Bernard concocts a romantic rendezvous with his mistress with an alibi courtesy of his friend, Robert. But Bernard's wife decides on a surprise tryst of her own. With a gourmet cook and a randy mistress-both named Suzy-a wacky collision course of mistaken identity and outrageous infidelity ensues. It is 1950 and artists Mariela and Jose are living an isolated existence in the desert of Northern Mexico, haunted by the ghost of their young son. Jose is very ill and Mariela sends a telegram to their daughter encouraging her to come home. Where once the walls were beautifully decorated, now only one painting remains, and it is shrouded in mystery. This play will be performed in Spanish with English supertitles. This production features an amazing cast including the stunning Blanca Aguero in the title role of Mariela and Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P. TAMER OF HORSES to Open 2/14 at Aurora Theatre

Aurora Theatre's 2013-2014 Harvel Lab Series continues with William Mastrosimone's Tamer of Horses running February 14 - March 2, 2014. Teen violence, education and the realization of one's own potential all take center stage in this poignant drama. Hector St. Vincent, a juvenile rapper on the run, takes up residence in an old barn owned by Ty & Georgiane Fletcher. A former teacher, Ty attempts to inspire and educate the teenager through an examination of Homer's The Iliad. But will he be rewarded for taking a chance on this troubled youth? The play features Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P. Rodriguez and Maria Sager (The Book Club Play - Horizon Thaetre, Barrio Hollywood - Aurora Theatre) as the Fletchers and 2014 Aurora Apprentice Company member Dane Troy as Hector. The show will be performed in Aurora's intimate 86-seat Peach State Federal Credit Union Studio. The production reunites the creative duo from last season's hit 'Master Harold'...and the Boys with Jaclyn Hofmann directing and scenic design by Suzi Award-Winner Lee Maples.

Aurora Theatre is giving patrons what they have been asking for-more holiday programing. In addition to the perennial favorite one-man A Christmas Carol, featuring Anthony P. Rodriguez, Aurora adds a hilariously irreverent one-woman show, The 12 Dates of Christmas. These shows will run for a limited 3-week engagement December 5-22 in repertory. Tickets are $15 to each show. Showtimes vary. See both shows with the Combo Ticket for only $25. The Combo Ticket is good for any combination of 2 shows you choose. The holidays are twice as nice when you get two tickets for one low price.
