New Camerata Opera announced details for the company's seventh season. The upcoming season breaks boundaries by bringing classic stories to the stage and re-contextualizing them for today’s audience.

The main draw of CABARET is the set, or more broadly, the atmosphere. Housed in the historic warehouse-turned multipurpose artistic venue Pullman Yards (known previously as home to the Van Gogh Experience), the Atlanta Opera takes full advantage of creating their set, stage, and even audience space from scratch.

The Atlanta Opera Discoveries Series, dedicated to mounting adventurous new productions in alternative spaces, that provided the inspiration for the widely praised Big Tent performances, and the venue fittingly returns this season for the Discoveries Series 'Come As You Are' festival (June 2-19), comprising a new production of the blockbuster musical Cabaret performed in repertory with the critically acclaimed chamber opera As One.

The Atlanta Opera returns to the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this season for its four mainstage productions: Handel's Julius Caesar in Egypt, Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, Rossini's Barber of Seville, and Mason Bates's The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs.

Jefferson Performing Arts Society will stage the New Orleans area debut of Ken Ludwig’s hit A Comedy of Tenors from April 9-18, 2021, at Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. A total of six performances will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Jefferson Performing Arts Society brings its third production of the new year to the Jefferson Performing Arts Center with the timeless 1940s dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace from February 26-March 7, 2021. 

This December, following the smash success of Dickens' A Christmas Carol: The Opera, Gramercy Opera returns to Brooklyn's exclusive Montauk Club to usher in the holiday season with 'A Gramercy Opera Christmas.'

The Metropolitan Opera Guild today announced that the honorees of its “Diamond Jubilee” celebration will be luminaries Martina Arroyo and Teresa Stratas.  The Guild's 85th Annual Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, November 20th at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.  Special remarks by Stephanie Blythe and musical tributes by Ailyn Pérez and Matthew Polenzani will be performed during the event.

The George London Foundation for Singers has been honoring, supporting, and presenting the finest young opera singers in the U.S. and Canada since 1971. The foundation and the George London Awards (the prize of the foundation's annual competition) are named for the legendary Canadian-American bass-baritone, one of the greatest opera singers of 20th century, who devoted much of his time and energy in his later years to the support and nurturing of young opera singers.
