Tony Award-winning actor Jason Alexander recently assumed the role of 'Norman Drexel' in Larry David's hit comedy Fish In the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Alexander steps into the role created by David in the comedy about a death in the family. The limited engagement run of the production, originally scheduled through June 7, is extended for six weeks through Saturday, August 1 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48 Street). A $35 rush policy will be launched on Tuesday, June 9th when Tony Award-winning actor Jason Alexander assumes the role of Norman Drexel in Larry David's hit comedy Fish In the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). A limited number of rush tickets will be available the day of the performance at the box office of the Cort Theatre. The $35 rush tickets will be limited to 2 per person and will be available when the box office opens. (more...)

The record-breaking Broadway production of FISH IN THE DARK, written by and starring Larry David, has recouped its entire capitalization. The comedy about a death in the family, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, set a box office record for garnering the highest advance sale for any play in the history of Broadway and broke two house box office records (including its own) twice. FISH IN THE DARK began previews Monday, February 2 and opened on Thursday, March 5 at the Cort Theatre. (more...)

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today the extension of The Herd, the debut play of Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear currently playing to critical acclaim in its U.S. premiere production in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. In a four-star review, the Chicago Tribune raves, 'A family drama that sticks with you...this is Steppenwolf acting at its best' and The New York Times says, 'a buoyantly entertaining play [that] breathes with real, complicated life.' Directed by ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati, The Herd adds six additional performances, extending the run through June 14, 2015 with the original cast. Last night, actress Rita Wilson made her triumphant return to the hit Broadway comedy Fish In the Dark, following a one month of medical leave. In April, the actress revealed the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Now that she's cancer-free and back onstage, Wilson told the Times, 'It felt surreal in the sense that all these changes had happened, and yet it felt like it was yesterday.' (more...)
