Scottish Young Musicians, Scotland's festival of music competitions, gives young musicians from around the country the chance to compete to win career-enhancing prizes, perform live on a national stage in front of internationally renowned judges, and push their skills like never before.

Anticipated as being the next big development in music in Scotland, Brass Ensemble of the Year and Solo Performer of the Year seek to find the very best young musicians in each Local Authority and from independent schools in Scotland to compete against each other.

Today the Grammy-nominated Austin duo Black Pumas release their Spotify Holiday Single, a cover of the legendary R&B artist Lou Rawls’ 1967 track “Christmas Will Really Be Christmas.”

Walter Stearns, Executive Director of Mercury Theater Chicago, announced today two new cast members to lead the production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT beginning November 14, with Jeff Diebold as King Arthur, and Keely Vasquez as the Lady of the Lake. SPAMALOT opened on September 8 to rave reviews, with the original cast members, Jonah D. Winston and Meghan Murphy originally at the helm in the roles of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake. Murphy and Winston will play their final week of SPAMALOT through November 10.     

By popular demand, Mercury Theater Chicago's critically acclaimed production of Monty Python's SPAMALOT will be extended into the fall and winter, with performances now running through December 29. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT opened on September 8 to rave reviews, with Amanda Finn of NewCity noting a?oeSPAMALOT makes its triumphant return to Chicago, coconuts and all, in a no-holds-barred, good time show.a?? Katie Toupin releases her debut solo album Magnetic Moves today across all music platforms via Symphonic Distribution. Magnetic Moves is Toupin's first full-length project since leaving acclaimed band Houndmouth in 2016. The L.A. based singer-songwriter also stars in the 'Magnetic Moves' music video released last month. 

Bridge Street Development Corporation (BSDC), a Bedford- Stuyvesant-based nonprofit community organization, held their ninth annual Fresh Start Home Resource Expo on Saturday, June 30th, at Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn. The free event provided area homeowners, first time homebuyers, renters and tenants with housing-related resources, information and workshops presented by nonprofit organizations as well as city and state agencies.

Today's subject Evan Casey is currently living his theatre life onstage at Signature Theatre, his DC theatrical home base in An Act of God. The production runs through November 26.

Today's subjects Britney Coleman and Tim Rogan are currently living their theatre lives at Arena Stage performing in one of the golden age of Broadway's more underrated musicals, The Pajama Game. They are playing the roles of Babe Williams and Sid Sorokin, respectively. The production runs through December 24th.

Stephen Sondheim would be thrilled at this wonderful production.

D.C.'s Signature Theatre is currently presenting Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Road Show directed by Gary Griffin (Broadway's Honeymoon in Vegas, Signature's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), and according to the Washington Post, the creative team hopes it could have a future on Broadway.

Mercury Theater Chicago's RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH celebrates Cash's life and music, and as performed by the production's cast of immensely talented actor/musicians, it is a celebration, indeed.

Ah, liaisons! Old love is rekindled, young love is awakened, and foolish romantic escapades intertwine in Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's ravishing A Little Night Music, opening Friday, July 10 (8pm) at Palm Beach Dramaworks. This concert presentation, which runs through July 19 at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre, is directed by Lynnette Barkley, with musical direction by Kevin David Thomas. Leading the cast are William Michals, who previously captivated audiences in PBD's concert productions of Man of La Mancha and The Most Happy Fella; and Sondheim veteran Joy Franz, who created the role of the Stepmother in the original production of Into the Woods.

'The No Rules Sketch Show' at Signature Theatre actually pretty much follows every rule of contemporary sketch work by including some slightly topical humor, some celebrity impersonations, broad physical comedy and a lot of bawdiness meant to be enhanced by the available cocktails.
